That fabulous face!,

This review is from: Marilyn Monroe: Unseen Archives (Hardcover)
It's a uniquely American tale. Young cute girl with some natural talent and good looks remade into stunning zaftig star. And tragic as well. Marie Clayton's bio puts together some incredible photos. I would have never pictured myself much of a Marilyn fan, but I'm just so taken with her smile. Her face conveys so much. I'm not talking about complicated emotions, but just stunningly simple and beautiful reactions. Plus, the sheer physicality of her. She's ample and full. Clayton's done a nice job assembling this book.

Some of Monroe Unseen,
By Emanuel D. Elias "Emanuel D. Elias" (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews

I liked this book. It should be in every Monroe collector's collection. It contains lots of rare pictures and info that wasn't generally known to the public. The only fault that I found that no color pictures were added in the book. But otherwise it's well worth your time and money.

A real bargain!,

This book is available through various outlets, including Amazon, mainly as a "discount" book, but in fact don't let its low price fool you; it's an outstanding collection of photographs of Marilyn, including more than a few that I don't remember seeing in print elsewhere. The big format of the book means a lot of these images can be reproduced in splendid detail. Well worth the cost at twice the price or more!

This book contains some really low-key photos of Marilyn, as well as lots of text. It provided some interesting background and historical information I was not aware of before; I'm kind of a Marilyn fan, but not fanatical; I found this book very touching and interesting. She was a complicated figure and an interesting person in her own right. Too bad she did not live longer; she was a fabulous actress!
