I bought this cd because we were adopting from Guatemala. After a visit to Guatemala in the summer of 2001, this cd became even more enjoyable-it brought back memories of hearing marimbas from the Hotel Antigua as we were going to sleep each night.
The music is beautiful and well played. There are many "traiditional" Guatemalan tunes, as well as a few that most anyone in the US will recognize ("Autumn Leaves", "Granada.")
If you want to remember the beauty of the country of Guatemala, this cd will evoke that easily.
I listened to it a lot during the long wait for our baby to come home, and still listen to it just as a wonderful cd. I only wish there were several more in this series- the sound of the marimbas is so mellow and soothing.
