5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, many uses., August 14, 2009

This review is from: Marinco 150BBI Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, Black) (Sports)
This is my second shore power plug (for a completely different use).

So far, I have one mounted in the truck acting as my Block Heater/Oil Pan heater plug (bumper mount; no more need to lift the hood to plug it in any more, or have the cord dangling out of the gtille) and as 'shore power' to my shed. I simply run a 100' 10/3 extension cord out to the shed and plug in, and voila, lights and outlets. $17 for this, $675 to run conduit and wire.. hmm. And, since I'm only in the shed after dark a few times a year, this'll do fine. Mount it in an exterior code weather box and off ya go.

Very solid product, well crafted. If the back is going to be exposed to the elements (as in a bumper mount), get some liquid electrical tape and put it around the 2 seams on the rubber boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Design, Easy Install, Super-Durable, Great Price!, November 13, 2010

This review is from: Marinco 150BBI Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, Black) (Sports)
I have used these receptacles on my boats in the past and they have lasted for years in harsh saltwater, but they're hard to find even in marine stores.
Great quality, simple installation, perfect design, and very durable. I'm using this one on my jeep to power an on-board charging system as I have a large inverter and a second battery that I tend to run down. Also great to keep juice to the battery so I can listen to the stereo and run lights for hours while I'm working on the Jeep without draining the battery. Eliminates the hassle of hooking up a charger every time.
Installation simply requires a hole saw, wire strippers and a screwdriver.
I really like the option of using either the screw ring or 3 screws (included) for the installation. Makes this even more flexible.
While these are intended as charger receptacles, they're also great for very basic shore power hookup for small boats or RV's with lower power requirements. Just be sure your load doesn't exceed the receptacle rating, of course...

Product is very durable, and is how it is described. Four stars because there is a small hole that has to be sealed for it to be completely water sealed, and you can't mount it with the screws and ring at the same time.

I use this for my engine block heater for my car and it works great. Instead of just having a cord hang out, it keeps everything safe and protected from the elements.

I charge my 8 battery chargers inside my work van and this is how I get 120v to my chargers. I have seen and used other products, but of them all, I like this the best and will buy it again. Looks good from the curb. Very sharp clean, small tidy product. I have used other residential exterior outlets and looked at marine outlets for a higher price. This product is perfect for the low budget DIY'er.

Was looking for a 110v receptacle for my 2500HD to power the on onboard chargers. After some research found this piece and it works perfect. Well made, weather resistant, solid connection.

I bought this item for use on an 8x12 building I constructed. Electric is available to the building by extension cord only from a nearby power source. I didn't want to run the extension cord through the windows or doors because the building is air conditioned. The charger inlet is installed through the back wall of the building and permanently wired to 2 grounded outlets. Being able to connect up in this manner is extrememly convenient.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adaptable., September 29, 2010

This review is from: Marinco 150BBI Marine On-Board Charger Inlet (15-Amp, 125-Volt, Black) (Sports)
I'm currently using mine as a direct plug-in for the glow plug heater system on my Super duty. It seems to be water resistant and solid. I'm not afraid to be rough with the plug and it hasn't broken yet. I drove away with it still plugged in once and the only result was that the tines bent a bit. No worries.

It works.

What more can I say?

Makes charging easy hook up, you must splice tie in or make your on pig tail, well made with one exception, the lock retention washer on the back is to small, I liked it enough to order another one.
