Good for new knife owners, May 17, 2011
This review is from: 15" Marine Combat Hunting Bowie Knife w/ Survival Kits (Misc.)
This is a good knife for new owners of knifes or collectors (kids). This also is a great knife for a survival kit because it has tons of twine for the handle which can be used as cord if its cut. But yet that handle is very slippery especialy if u were in a combat situation with this knife. The saw is very strong its decent enough to be used to cut tree branches. The blade is not very sharp when it comes out of the box so it needs a good sharpening but the problem I have when I sharpen myn is it dulls quickly. Aside from the actual "knife" parts the survival kit inside the knife is spring assisted so it is very easy to get out. The kit covers some little things but this is more so an extra. My survival kit was not completed with my knife, the steel bar was missing and the compas was out of water and therefor didnt work. Now for the sheath, the sheath is a nice leather sheath that is not going to cut a hole cut into or poked into, its very strong. The downside with the sheath is it does not have the string on it that most sheaths have that ties it down on your leg so it doesnt bounce around. But other than those difficultys I had I would give this about a 3.5 - 4 on a scale of 1 - 10, good knife!
