By far the easiest way to study and learn the navigation rules. This book begins with a history of the navigation rules followed by an in depth look at the inland rules. A CFR reprint of each rule is provided to meet the Coast Guard's requirement as an onboard copy. Each rule is followed by a layman's discussion of what the rule means and what the courts have said about the rule. Each chapter has a quiz at the end to assist you in evaluating your understanding of that section of the rules. The quiz answers are contained at the end of the book and are omplete with an explanation as to WHY it is the correct answer. The inland rule section is followed by the international rules. All rules are included, but only the differences between the inland and international rules are discussed. The rest of the format is identical to the inland section of the book. Case studies from Coast Guard and NTSB investigations are included in both sections for further application and discussion of knowledge gained. Hardback, color, fully illustrated.
