5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
The description says Pot GRIP - not grips. I don't think it's deceiving. It was very clear to me there was only one, the low price is a good hint. Anyway, the review... They work great. They are so shallow, I was afraid they would slip off the pot handles but the silicone is tacky and they stay on great, protect your digits and do exactly what they are supposed to. They...

3.0 out of 5 stars You need to order TWO!
I just assumed you would receive two pot grips - but only got one. And honestly, what good is ONE??? Had to go back and order another. They are very nice though!

The photo depicts TWO grips; Why surprised to get merely one??? Come on - Jeff (Bezos) --at least show one grip or list the purchase as BUY A PAIR for $9.00! How disappointing to rip open the box and see a solo grip....hrmpf!

I just had the same experience as the other reviewer. This listing completely makes it sound like you get two grips, from the photo to the description where it's referred to as "grips."

3.0 out of 5 stars Stupid retailing and shipping, September 29, 2008
This review is from: Mario Batali Silicone Pot Grip, Persimmon (Kitchen)
This product is okay, it doesn't look that good and I end up using my handy, dandy neoprene potholders anyway. I was glad to have read reviews stating that these sell individually and not in pairs (how stupid is that?), so I ordered two through Amazon. One arrived with an invoice that the other had been backordered. This tiny rubber item was sent in a large box with a lot of packing. I held onto everything, in case I needed to return it. A month later the other arrives in a larger box with more packing. How asinine.

They are so shallow, I was afraid they would slip off the pot handles but the silicone is tacky and they stay on great, protect your digits and do exactly what they are supposed to. They work perfectly. I couldn't be happier with a $4. item. (they're pretty cute too :-)

Okay, so if you've seen eccentric Batali on T. V.,
you know that the chef has a larger than life personna.
However, this and all his hand protective products
for cooking...Deliver! About a year ago,I bought
four side handle grips and one long handle grip in
persimmon and pesto. I had to wait some for the
fun hues, but the wait was worth it. I adore the
Euro colors, the easy cleaning, the compact storage,
and the protection. I took away one star because
one cannot keep the side handles on over a gas flame
during the entire cooking process. The silicone heats up.
So, yes, one needs to buy TWO separately priced side grips
for one pot; then one must put the "twins" on at key moments
of the cooking process; next REMOVE the grips if one
is not satisfied that the cooking is done. Follow?
Not by the way, I recommend browsing Amazon's book section
and purchasing "Heat". It's a revealing, entertaining,
and appalling expose of Batali and the cooking biz!
Buon Apetito!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, February 2, 2009

Regular cloth pot holders were fine, but these (ya gotta buy two) are perfect for use with Mario's 6-qt Italian essentials pot. They grip really well and are easily cleaned. I have not oven tested them, but have left them on the pot while cooking on the stove top. Description says heat proof to 500 degrees. I purchased a contrasting color from the pot, just for visibility purposes.
