I am not perhaps terribly drawn to Testino's often conventional, clean, almost digital looking commercial work but do not be deceived - what he does other than for commercial gain is nothing less than stunning.

All his books are a must each in their own way, even including his mini kids' portraits book, but Mario De Janeiro Testino is perhaps his finest. Clearly personal, often sexual but always technically & artistically extremely interesting... perhaps above all... beautiful. Quite simply an essential purchase for photographers or photography fans.

A photograph that can make you feel so many different things. Not just for their outside aesthetics. With his pictures you can feel the mood, the taste, the thoughts, humor and their personality in general.
A must have book from Testino. Don't forget the other book: "Front Row/Backstage"

The book is awesome. Great pictures taken by great photographer. You have a view of Rio, through Testino's point of view.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The photographs just aren't of a quality that I expected; it just looks like they were all just casual photo shoots. Maybe that's just the style of Testino, and maybe I gravitate more to the kind of meticulous, finely honed photographs of, say, Helmut Newton. I was also disappointed in the absence of black models. There were only 2 photographs of black models, 1 with Emanuela de Paula, and another with 3 black males, among pages upon pages of phenotypically white models. And their sparseness seems to only make the absence of their absence even more conspicuous. I guess it's just not my style.

In this book you will find more curves and colors in the beautiful bodies of the models than in the wonderful city's landscapes. But that's what one would expect from Mario Testino, right? If it had hard cover, it'd be even better as a coffee table book. It's a delight to browse it anyway. And a nice gift for those who appreciate beautiful Brazilians, beautiful people, I mean.

Great photography...sexy and raw images- Have to say that some of the photos kind of looked like an Abercrombie & Fitch lay out from one of their infamous catalogs. over all great coffee table book, proof that Brazillians are definetly sexy people...
