5.0 out of 5 stars Computer Tech and Video Game Fan
I have played all three of the current console systems (PS2, X-Box, and Gamecube). My favorite by far is the Nintendo Gamecube. It seems to load much faster than PS2 and X-Box. The graphics are better than PS2 and on the level of X-Box. Plus, the Gamecube is cheaper and very portable. Gamecube however lacks a hard-drive and it has extremely limited online gameplay. But,...

If u got a Gamecube for Christmas then i dont feel that good for u. Why? cuz its relly not too good. I mean the games are way too boring and childish and mario kart the game that comes with it is the only good game and that is not as good as the other racing games i have played so return ur gamecube if u got one.

The graphics are better than PS2 and on the level of X-Box. Plus, the Gamecube is cheaper and very portable. Gamecube however lacks a hard-drive and it has extremely limited online gameplay. But, Gamecube makes up for this with a super comfortable controller and excellent exclusives such as Mario Kart Double Dash which is packaged with this bundle. This game is very fun and it's for Gamecube only. I definitely suggest buying this bundle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice system, December 2, 2004

I bought this exact package from GameStop, but from an actual store, not online. They gave me their Accessory pack for free, which included a 2nd controller, two controller extension cables, a small memory card and a folder to put your games in. It was an excellent buy.

The graphics are great and the games are fun! We love Mario Kart, and cheap (but good) used games are plentiful. For under $100 you can't do better! If you are a FPS-type player, maybe you'd be better served with an XBox (PS2 is too old now), but if you like arcade or puzzle games as I do, or you want games for your children to play, GameCube will not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Start Those Gamecube Engines!!, December 25, 2004
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mario Kart Holiday Bundle (Video Game)
Last Year, Nintendo really seemed to outgrow the traditional racing games with Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for the Nintendo Gamecube. The game became one of the most popular games for the video game system. Yet, Nintendo also has found many different ways to really seel their magnificent video games with their systems. They have done it before with the Gamecube with classic games like Super Mario Sunshine, and incredible offers like a free Game Boy Player attachment to the Gamecube awhile ago. Yet, with all those other video game systems with little to none in supply, Gamecube works in very well conditions.

The Mario Kart Holiday Bundle for the Nintendo Gamecube includes a well created Gamecube, a pair of controllers, and the exciting Mario Kart: Double Dash video game. The game itself, is one of the most exciting racing games that has ever been released for the Nintendo Gamecube, where you can race through many outrageous courses including the exciting Rainbow Road, the classic dark and spooky Bowser's Castle, the unbelieveable Mario Circuit, and a few exciting battle tracks that are sure to knock your socks off. The game also includes some unlockable bonuses including characters like Petey Piranha, King Boo, Toad, and even more wacky and crazy racers to choose from.

With so many stores sold out on Playstation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo's newest handheld game system Nintendo DS, you really don't have much around to choose from. Yet the Nintendo Gamecube: Mario Kart Holiday Bundle edition is really one worth the purchase on its own. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a memory card which it a must for saving all the files for this, or any Gamecube game. That is seperately. Still, for anybody, Gamecube is more worth its money than people realize within the race.

Nintendo still provides the highest entertainment value of all the consoles available. That includes XBOX and Playstation 2. I have not seen any other entertaining multiplayer XBOX title outside of the Halo franchise, and Playstation 2 is typically only fun for 2 people at best. To get the "ultimate graphics" of XBOX is easily obtainable: simply connect a control pad to a PC and there you have it. Even a game as "childish" as Nintendo's Mario Kart: Double Dash can afford me (a 21 year old college student) and his friends all endless hours of fun. Though the games may be drawn in a cartoony fashion which appeals to a younger demographic, the games are quite deep, creating challenges for gamers all ages. Not to mention bang for the buck. In my opinion, Nintendo still produces the best systems hands down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy crap, this is awesome., January 3, 2005

This review is from: Mario Kart Holiday Bundle (Video Game)
I bought GameCube the day it came out for $200. I fell in love with it the minute i started playing it. I bought Double Dash shortly after the game was released, and paid $50. The value of this package is absolutely incredible, considering Double Dash alone is still $50. Even finding it used for much under $50 is rare. It's like getting the system and controller for an extra fifty bucks. That rules.

I opened up absolutely everything in this game within twelve hours of it's purchase. the GameCube games never cease to amaze me, and I think it is the most incredible system. I'm a freshman in college, and I don't know what I would do without my GameCube and Double Dash. My roomate and I play the All-Cup Tour (Grand Prix with all 16 races) at least once a day.

This package is an incredible deal, both value and entertainment wise. Rock on nintendo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bundle...2 years ago, March 29, 2007

I bought this exact bundle for $99 at circuit city on November 2004. At the time it was a steal because you were really paying $99 for $160+ worth of stuff. At this moment, it would be much easier and cheaper to buy all these items seperately (especially since the Wii was released). You're really just paying for an extra bigger outside box along with an additional new controller in a bag inside the box. I would only reccomend this if you're a serious collector and you had to have everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy for the Money, May 17, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mario Kart Holiday Bundle (Video Game)
I have bought the same Package as the one shown above, and let me assure you, if you like good games that have high, consistant framerates and quality, you're looking at the wrong place. The Nintendo Gamecube is a tiny console, with unbeatable quality, both in the console and games, a strong, customer guarrentee minimum with any manufactorer that sells games or devices (I had a broken Memory Card and they replaced it for free), stunning graphics, and realistic framerate (to the point in which you wonder if real humans or the humans in the consoles have a better movement). The system is like a European Mini, small on the outside, but designed for pleasure on the inside. Gamecube had been orginally started from the N64 Console, but now they made it to the point that, if they ever made a SEGA Dreamcast 2, it would rival it. My only drawback is personal, that I am a fighter pilot and rifleman, and Gamecube has low levels of War Time Sniper or fighter pilot games.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap price redeems the purchase., March 16, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mario Kart Holiday Bundle (Video Game)
Not to offend anyone, but it seems like we have A LOT of Nintendo Fanboys at this review. People are literally completely bashing the PS2 and Xbox calling them "inferior" and "boring." I will say that for $100 this was a great deal. Mario Kart is by itself $30. Controllers are atleast $20 a piece and that's not even counting the system. Needless to say this was a great opportunity, it's only a shame that they've discontinued it since the holiday season.

Back to what I was saying, every person is at least suited for one system best, but most are probably better off getting 2 of them. I'd recommend a Gamecube and either a PS2 or an Xbox. I'd prefer the PS2 since it's a great variety, and some of the best video games available. Someone below said "PS2 is only good for 2 players," or "Xbox is only for Halo, and PS2 has nothing." People need to be open-minded and stop being fanboys to only THEIR system. If you would try out other systems, you would see that they have a ton of other games. I personally had only a gamecube, but also purchased a PS2 because I really like RPG's. I also had an Xbox that I later sold because it didn't really have what I was looking for.

In the end, this is a good deal, but now there's no point because people are selling it at ridiculous prices and stupidly enough, Nintendo has discontinued it completely. All you fanboys of Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox should try the other systems. Nintendo has great first-party games like Zelda, Metroid, Mario and others. Sony has the best RPG's like Final Fantasy, Dark Cloud 2, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Suikoden 3 and many others. It also has a great variety of racing games, platformers and just about anything you want. Xbox has the best FPS's and graphics, along with online-service. It is lacking in other departments, but it does usually come up with the best multi-platform titles that are released on all the systems. Give them a chance before you denounce them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal, January 20, 2005

This is a great deal.
GameCube $99
Game $50
Extra Controler $25-$30
Total Price for this is $99 in stores.
You can't beat a 75 to 80 dollar savings... Plus unless you hate mario or racing then you will love the game. If not sell that thing on here. It is hard to find one for cheap because it is so fun.
Overall GREAT DEAL!!
Hope this helps!
