2011 album from the American Dream-Folk singer/songwriter. Brian McTear produced the album, which Nadler says is the "most honest, natural record" of her career. "You'll want this music to never end" - LA Weekly.

This is a wonderful album from Marissa Nadler which I am very very proud to say I helped fund through the Kickstarter website. Its also perhaps her most commercial effort with at least two songs "Baby, I Will Leave You in the Morning" and "The Sun Always Reminds Me of You" being more than ready to be heard on any quality radio station at any hour of the day. On the surface its also Marissa's most upbeat effort but with numerous listening s paying special attention as always to her excellent lyrics, this is once again a very sad album filled with songs of disappointment, loneliness and heartbreak. At this stage she probably does these qualities in song better than anyone else right now and has a voice that is just about unrivaled by anyone. She truly is at the height of her powers.

Marissa Nadler has been one of my favorite female singers of the past 5 years. She puts out an album roughly every couple years, and not once have I been disappointed. Anticipating the release date of this album, and to get it to live up to what I expected is one of the best surprises of the year. We get a bit more of a country vibe on some songs, but if you've been a fan of her work previously, you'll have no issue playing this through continuously. She is 100% independent now, runs her own label and distribution, so when you purchase this album, you are contributing directly to her and funding more of her wonderful music. Probably my favorite album of the year, if not, definitely top 3.

Fantastic album. This much awaited follow-up to LITTLE HELLS does not disappoint. Fans of Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions will appreciate this.

This is a fine, tuneful and intelligent album with great arrangements and production. There is a melancholy air over the whole thing, but it is a beautiful melancholy rather than just misery. There is a crowded field of excellent women singer-songwriters at the moment, and Marissa Nadler is among the best of them. She's a class act and I suggest that you listen to a sample or two and snap this up. It is excellent.
