In 1996, Mark Brunell became the first quarterback since Johnny Unitas in 1963 to lead the NFL in both passing yards (4,367) and rushing yards for a quarterback (396), serving notice that he was a significant threat as both a passer and a runner. He passed for 2,601 yards in 1998, bringing his career total to 12,512 yards. When he is not on the football field, Brunell is busy in the Jacksonville community for a variety of causes.

About the Author
Pete Prisco has been a sportswriter with the Florida Times-Union since 1987 and covers the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is also a contributor to The Sporting News. Prior to joining the Times-Union, he worked for The Tulsa Tribune, St. Petersburg Times, and Denver Post. Prisco previously authored Jags to Riches (1996, St. Martins Pess) with John Oehser on the surprising season that saw the Jaguars advance to the AFC championship game. The 38-year-old Coral Springs, FL native is an Arizona State University graduate and currently resides in Jacksonville, where he hosts his own weekly sports radio show on WBWL.
