I cannot express just how much I love this series. I go nuts waiting two months between each new title! "The Mark of the Crown" is no different and adds a great chapter to this wonderful series.

As has been well stated, this series is not just for the 8-12 year-olds it was written for. I am 20 and find these to be the best Star Wars books on the market (sans the novelizations of the movies).

I actually found the strength of "The Mark of the Crown" to be the continuing development of the relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. As can be seen in this text, the two really want to be close; they each hold parallel thoughts but do not share these thoughts believing the other would not understand. This is a realistic hurdle that they will have to jump in order to even get close to the father/son relationship seen in Episode I. If Jude Watson (a supurb author) were to just jump stright to this father/son relationship a lot of the magic this series holds would be used up very quickly. Give Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon time, the relationship is destined to mature. Right now they are just being typical stuborn guys ;)

Finally, the Jedi Apprentice books are the only Star Wars books I've read (aside from the movie novelizations) that portray the Force as I feel George Lucas meant it to be. This alone gives me great respect for this series. All of the Extended Universe books I've read that occur beyond Return of the Jedi are very shameful in this aspect.

I am very much looking forward to all of the upcoming titles in this series.

I am a huuuuuge fan of Star Wars so when I saw these books I went mad and bought them all! I just love them. The adventures Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon is amazing and keeps you reading on. I'ts very tense and I have read each book twice. This is a definate for all you fans out their! Use the Force!

I really enjoyed number four in the Jedi Apprentice series, The Mark of the Crown. I have read it about six times now. It is great. I recommend this book to everyone! I did not like Prince Beju in this book. He was awful! I also did not like Jono. I love pretending that I am Obi-Wan Kenobi [ but, of course I am Obi-Wan so what difference does it make ]. If you like Star Wars I think you should read this book. But just to warn you, be prepared for some shocking stuff to happen.

The Mark of the crown is one of my top five favorites. It starts when the rulers of planet of Gala decide to change its goverment. The queen is dying and her son is angry that she shifted the monarch to a republic. So the son runs for one of the canidates. The Jedi, (Qui-gon and his apprentice Obi-wan,) are there to make the elections go smoothly, but the Jedi fear that there is some sort of connection between the hill people who vowed never to come to the capital of Gala and their leader, Elan, might be the true heir to the throne.

Well, what can I say! Truly the best! My fav. part is when Obi-Wan gets locked in the freezer! I got this book a little late so I also have the 5th book. The only person in this series who frustrates me is Qui-Gon! He's WAY too serious! I just wish he would be a little more understanding! Something that is really funny is how Obi-Wan loses his lightsaber in every book! Get this boy some SUPERGLUE! Take it from me, a huge Star Wars fan from age 5, who had to sneak the book past the Star Wars haters, all the way down the hall to my best friends, the Star Wars lovers! I recommend this book to any Star Wars fan! P.S. Obi-Wan being my age, I wish he could have a girlfriend =)!

After reading the first three of the new Jedi Apprentice series, I was more than anxious to read the books following it. Though the previouse books were exelent, this one had that interesting twist. Judging from the success of these four books, I can tell that the fifth will be equal or better than these, and most likely the following books will gradually get better and better every time. Personally, I can't wait!

Jude Watson continues to write intereszing stories about the adventures of Qui-Gon Jinn and his young Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. He also writes about their developing relationship, with both men longing for connection and not realizing that they are coser than they think!

In this instalment the two Jedi are sent to Gala, where the dying queen is bringing democratic elections to her planet, and her son is not at all happy about it.

This is a well-written and interesting story in this continuing series.

Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to Gala to oversee an election. The queen is slowly dying and feels her son Beju is unfit to rule. Amist rioting in the streets, the feared hill people, bandits, politicians and betrayal in the palace the jedi must maintain the peace. This book picks up where The Hidden Past left us and keeps you hooked threw twist and turn till the final revalation. Its a quick read but highly recommended.

The star wars book Mark of the crown was in my opinion a absouluetly fantastic book.As the other book's I've read in the Jedi apprentice sereis it out done the last I liked the storyline the wording the different charactes the nemodiens and how the action scenes were as like you were watching the only thing I regret to say that I didn't like was how it kept jumping from Qui gons mission to Obi-wans mision after a while it just got anoying but as any faithful star wars fan I kept reading and I epected i was rewarded at the end with a fanastic ending of the book . I rate this book 5 stars

While I was online writing reviews for other J.A. books, my mom picked up Mark of the Crown and started reading it! Apart from her, I have to say it's one of the best in the series. It was great!
