I got this tea chest due to the fact that I received a Primula Glass Tea Mug and several teas from a friend. I'm a big fan of tea, especially the black teas like Earl Grey and Peurh Teas. With all of this tea in my cabinets, there is a lot of space that is being taken up. I got this box as well because it had a few samples of Bigelow teas in it, and I'm always up to try new tea. The picture that Amazon has shown shows the box filled with several bags, so I was excited, but was let down when I opened it to find 8 bags (2 bags of each flavor) in it. It really kind of put me off just because of the fact that the description stated 8 Bigelow Tea blends, when in reality, it only came with 4 different blends. I let this slide because I had several types of tea already, so this wasn't a huge disappointment. Once I had all of my teabags in the box (which was quite a lot, about 8 boxes full of standard size tea bags), I closed the lid and noticed my other gripe, The fact that the box will not close fully when it's full of tea. That's not a good thing, considering that's the whole point of the box. Now, I'm guessing if you took a few bags out of the box, it would close fully, so it's not a big thing, I guess.

I got this for my wife, an avid tea fan. She loves the box, I love not having separate tea boxes taking up space in my kitchen. This product would have gotten 5 stars, except that the picture shows it full of teas and it only comes with, as many said before, 8 packets. Two packets of 4 kinds of tea. Now, I agree that you can't always go by what is on the picture but the line in the description "it opens to reveal six separated compartments that come pre-filled with eight assorted Bigelow tea-bag blends" led me to believe that 8 tea blends would be available and that each compartment would be pre-filled. Not the case. Even the features list "Includes 8 assorted Bigelow tea-bag blends." I would greatly appreciate it if the seller would review these statements.
Honestly the only reason i didn't send it back was because my wife really does enjoy the box.

This is a great little box to give as a gift. It is perfect for entertaining or just decluttering your tea cabinet. I bought this for my mom and taped a 5x7 picture of my kids to the inside of the glass window to personalize it and she loved it.
The only small draw back is that the compartments are small so some of the larger tea packages dont fit as nicely. My mom had enough tea laying around to fill the entire box with packages that fit properly so this was not an issue for us.

Nice box for keeping tea. A little smaller than I expected, but that was my fault for not reading the dimensions carefully. My only issue is that, as others said, the cover does not close completely when filled with tea bags.

I just recieved this item. and it was about what I expected as far as size goes. However it was poorly made. When the hinges were installed they cracked the wood with the screws. The screws won't hold and lid falls off when opened. The quality control must be pretty poor, this should not have been sent out. I have returned it for a refund.

I bought this for my wife who loves having many kinds of tea bags on hand. It is a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it holds 60 or teabags. She manages to get about 10 bags in each compartment. 2 or 3 of each of her favorites. She loves bringing the kettle out and her tea box when her gal pals come over.
Over all, it made her happy so it made me happy.

This is a nice tea chest, especially considering the low price, but the lid doesn't close when filled with tea bags. To store tea as displayed in the picture, you'd probably only be able to fit ~3 bags per slot. If the box had been just a half inch larger, it would be much more accommodating for storage.

First off "8 assorted blends" means 8 bags of tea. That's it. I saw other identical boxes without the tea bags. Go for one of them if you want this box.

The box is nice looking. I'm not a tea drinker. I keep the box in my office by the Keurig for clients who may want tea. Heat up a cup of water and I'm all set. It allows me to offer tea in a somewhat fancy fashion. Clients can read "TEA" on the front from across the room. So its really an A+ in terms of looks. I will say this, the dark wood shows a lot of dust.

I haven't filled it with tea. Other reviewers have commented its about 1/8" too shallow. This is true if you want to fill the thing with tea and pack it out. If you half fill each compartment, the bags will lean back and the shallow depth problem isn't an issue.

The reviews about shallow screws in the lid. Yeah, I could see where that could be a problem. Mine hasn't been one yet.

If you're looking for a nice gift for a tea drinking friend. Look elsewhere.

If you're a power tea drinker. Look elsewhere.

If want a pretty box to sit in the office for clients to occasionally use, its decent for that purpose.

Everything about this box made me excited to take it out of the box. And then, I tried to put a variety of teas inside. The box is too short for many of the tea bags I have which means it doesn't shut correctly when it's filled. I don't return much to Amazon, but even my boyfriend said "It shouldn't be like that". It's a beautiful box- just wish they would make it a bit taller.

Of course, Amazon was great about the refund.

I ordered this tea box as a gift - I'm so impressed with it that I may HAVE to have one myself. Like the other reviewers, the amount of tea that comes with it looks dinky - I was adding tea for my gift anyway so wasn't too concerned about that. Like one reviewer stated, if filled completely (very tightly) the lid will not close all the way. If you fill it that tight you can't leaf through the bags anyway. All in all - I just love it - a beautiful piece!
