The best yet!,

This review is from: Mark Lowry On Broadway [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I'm a huge Mark Lowry fan. I've been to a few Gaither concerts, several of Mark's solo concerts, bought his CDs, rented his videos, read his books. In all that, I have to say that this video is the best thing I've seen from Mark yet. I've only owned it for a week, and I've watched it three times already. His Broadway melody parodies are funny and tastefully done. The parody of Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca had my family rewinding the song over and over. Mark does the familiar song Mary Did You Know, and although nothing can top hearing this song done live, this is definitely the best recording I've ever heard. The video is made even better than Mark's videos in the past by the presence of many incredibly talented artists joining Mark on the stage. The duet with David Phelps and Sandi Patty is simply amazing--their voices work beautifully together. Anthony Burger is one person who can hold my attention probably for hours on end with his unbelieveable piano playing, and the music he plays here will have you spellbound in awe. The capstone of all this talent is the Gaither Vocal Band performing the song Let Freedom Ring. The music, the words, and the heartfelt praise given to God makes this one of the best songs I have ever heard. What ultimately made the video for me was the change from entertainment to a focus on the real reason why everything in this video is done. With some profound thoughts on the Maker of this whole universe, Mark brings the concert to an end with a clear salvation message and an invitation to know this heavenly Father who loves us so very much.

This is one of the most remarkable videos I've ever watched. The humor is fun and I feel like this is what religion and praising God should really be all about. If you don't get goosebumps listening to their 'tenor' you are tone deaf. He is singing to the heavens, unlike the three tenors who sing for $. A wonderful CD made for family and a reminder that we tend to think to much about our self absorbed lives. It is uplifting, rewarding and makes you rewind to watching over and over again.

This show has it all. Great music and dancing - I laughed and I cried. ML features (and honors) his Mom and all the members of the Gaither Band. He knows when to sass you silly and when to touch your heart. He's quite a guy. Hearing him sing his composition, "Mary did you know" at the end was very fine.
