Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Kind of like an I Ching for writers: You throw the book open to wherever and some good advice or insight spills forth from this greatest of American authors: The same man, after all, who said he hadn't done "a day's work in all my life. What I have done I have done because it has been play . . . " A good attitude, indeed, to bring to your word processor, quill pen or typewriter.

How can anyone be a lover of literature--especially American literature, and not stand in a kind of awe of Mark Twain's abilities? Simply put, he mastered not only the English language, but all forms of the American dialect and knew how to 'get it across' the page and into the heart of the reader. While the world has produced many, many truly great authors... no one has done it quite like Twain--no one. Therefore, this compilation is, simply put, tremendous!

While the book is in good condition, it is not 'new,' as advertised. It has been written in and multiple pages turned back. Books advertised as new, should be new.

A great writer...na! A good book... na! not either...This is the Nec Plus Ultra for writing
Writing isn't just dopping words or doing a time to time jurk line... Writing is a state of mind, a feeling that has to be part of yourself and Mr. Twain, of all is the best to teach how.
Even if you hate teaching books - this one isn't one... its' a friend to hang on
