I recently missed this band at a little club here in Seattle so I was curious as to what I hand missed. I love vibes and the music is usually cool and often relaxing. I was not familiar with Sherman or pianist Allen Farnham. I was somewhat blown away by this CD. This is a very strong group. The music is swinging and complex enough to be interesting throughout. Sherman is a first rate vibesman. The piano player almost sounds possessed on a few tunes, possessed in a very good way. This excellent modern jazz, well recorded in a live setting.
