Mark Tansey's artwork is original, philosophical, covers linguistic debates, and requires the audience to know more about art history, philosophical debates than any other artist. His work is a critique on art itself and an answer to the questions he raises and other artists have raised. The paintings defy description, and interpretation requires a PHD in art history or a great appreciation for art. I recommend this book for all because even without full knowledge of the debates Tansey is covering or debunking, one can appreciate the art itself.
