My grandson got right into it,

This review is from: Mark Twain for Kids: His Life & Times, 21 Activities (For Kids series) (Paperback)
My seven year old grandson got right into this well done book. He quickly found
a typical Twain statement to the effect that God made idiots as practice for making school boards. For me, having him connect to Twain in that way was worth the whole cost of the book and the reason I bought it for him. And, being from Missouri, a special pleasure. Learning this realistic and somewhat cynical approach to life at a young age is not a bad thing. By age seven, eight for sure, it's time for a kid to use what they have learned critically. A Jewish proverb says, "As you are at seven, so you will be at seventy." Having Mark Twain on your team should improve the journey. |
