Product Description

New Edition (includes discussion of new IPO)

Mark Zuckerberg, the 27-year-old founder of Facebook, is not only the youngest self-made billionaire in history, he may now be worth as much as $28 billion. He is also considered by many to be one of the most influential persons in the information age. His impact on American culture is virtually unprecedented. And the company he controls so carefully, Facebook, has become a major social, commercial and advertising international force. The 2010 film, "Social Network" did not portray him in the kindest light, but was it a work of fact or fiction? Separating fiction from fact, award-winning author Daniel Alef, tells the true story of Zuckerberg's meteoric rise and his indelible mark on the evolution of American culture through social networking and now advertising. The curly-haired wunderkind rubs elbows with Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Rupert Murdoch, Donald Graham and other prominent players in today's business, technological and media world and is an emerging philanthropist. Alef's story includes a timeline, further reading section, shareholder breakdown, video links to various Zuckerberg interviews, and the new S-1 Registration Statement for the IPO. [10,002-word Titans of Fortune biographical profile]

Good Read--Great Hyperlinks December 8, 2010
This is a well-written biographical profile, albeit short; about the length of a long chapter. But the author gives us hyperlinks to various videos of Zuckerberg interviews and talks. One can spend several hours just on these videos. Nice use of multi-media. Given the writing style, the informative profile and the hyperlinks, I think this is a great buy.

Still, privacy remains a core issue which undoubtedly will be debated in the years to come. President Obama publicly admonished kids, saying: "be careful what you post on Facebook. . . Whatever you do, it will be pulled up later in your life." "e;

Perhaps what set it apart from all social network pretenders of the time was its decision to let members tag themselves and friends on photos. "e;
