Big Disapointment,

This game was a huge disapointment for me. I play these games for relaxation and this one came with no real instructions. The worst thing is there is NO SAVE OPTION. If you get killed, which is easily done because of the lack of any know how on what you are doing, it will send you back to the very beginning. I have never made it past more than a couple levels before having to start over and over and over and that is just not fun. Sometimes you can draw an item and have it work, next time you can do the same thing but it will draw nothing at all. I would NOT buy this game again and recommend trying something else.

Good Idea Ruined by Poor Controls,

First of all a game like this should have a small tutorial. I had to figure everything out by myself. The controls, especially the stylus controls were horrible. It took forever just to draw a line. I would have recommended the game as a budget titles had the controls been more cooperative.

Glitchy Mess,

I rented this game from Gamefly. I liked the Crayon flash game (look it up on google) and thought this would be an improvement. It is actually worse than that old flash game. The stick figure is glitchy, getting stuck in places with awkward animations. No tutorial level also hurt my enjoyment.

Total Frustration, Drawn to Life Knockoff,

This review is by my teenaged son, approved by me:
Clearly, some half-brained developer saw trailers for Drawn to Life and said, "Hey, why don't I make a game like that?" Clearly, that developer knew nothing whatsoever about good game design. Clearly, he also knew nothing about a good story. Read on to find out what I mean. Story: 0/10 - An epic fail. A doodle-boy is playing with his dog one day, when it suddenly vanishes into thin air. He must try to find it. It would be heartwarming, but the disappearance is too poorly planned (How can a grown dog vanish right under a person's nose?) and you don't even get to delve into the friendship between Marker Man and his dog (unlike a better game with a minimalist plot, A Boy and his Blob). Gameplay: 1/10 - Oh, come on! This gameplay is a total rip-off of good platformers, using "the laws of physics" in an attempt to make things more interesting. The truth is, this game has almost nothing to do with the laws of physics, and the drawing mechanism is poor, with the screen barely responding to your commands. Characters: 0/10 - Virtually nil. The only true "character" in the game is Marker Man, and he's just a virtual puppet with no personality whatsoever. All of the enemies are hopelessly generic, and there is no true "evil" force in the game. Fun: 0/10 - For goodness' sake, you can't even save! You're forced to play through the same levels every time you play the darn game! And those levels are incredibly hard to cross in the first place. Plus, let's not forget the glitches that make it hard to cross some of the harder parts in the level (Marker Man frequenlty gets stuck to the side of platforms, and he can't grip on them, either. Need I say more?) Overall: 1/40 - Let me put this as bluntly as I can: Run far, far away, and never, ever look back.

This game might be fun, but if you're left-handed (as I am) you wouldn't know it!
To move Marker Man, you use the "+" control pad on the left..... Leaving you only your right hand to write with! I haven't figured out a way to successfully use this game left-handed. Turning upside down might work, but it's kinda hard to move Marker Man around on his head and really have a sense of what's happening... :)

I bought this for my 8 yr old son who likes to play Magic Pen on the computer. But he found this game too difficult and I found it frustrating. Sometimes you can't draw a line for unknown reasons, and it's hard to know which way you are supposed to be going. It's not a game I would recommend.

From the bad graphics, controls, and lack of any idea of what is going on, this game gets a zero in my opinion. I drew a line and got stuck under it and could not move. I would not recommend this game to anyone.

Great concept IF it worked,

I was told this game was sort of a combo of Drawn To Life, which I love, and Scribblenauts, which I also own and like only it's a little hard at times but at least IT works! As for this game, I gave it ONE star....for a good idea. Shame it doesn't work, the other 4 stars it could have had are.... 1. No tutorial that it deffinately needed, 2. No save point at all, so...since the game is practically impossible, you get to play the 1st one....maybe 2 boards, over and over again!!(don't that sound fun), 3. Stylus control....uh..is it working? You can draw a square box or line, where you're "guessing" you could use one, 50 times.....and MAAAAYBE it will let you.....or not! Not much fun "trying" to draw something and it just not let you do it! And the 4th star this game is NOT gonna get would be for the total lack of use for anything the book said you could do! Huh? Draw a square around Markerman for super jump? yea right....1st off, it won't let you draw the darn square ANYWHERE, let alone around Markerman! The ONLY thing in this game I got to work properly was drawing circles around the enemies, other than that, you can't draw anything!
I'm just glad I purchased this game USED (should've been my 1st clue since the game is less than a year old) and I can return it within 7 days and get my full price back!(I just picked it up 3 days ago and it's going back today!) My over-all opinion of this game is that Majesco needs to pull this game off the shelves and uhm.....try again.....ALOT harder next time, like I said, great concept....if only it worked!

MarkerMan Adventures review,

If you are thinking about purchasing this game i would honestly say rent it first because this is not a game for everyone as it was clearly not a game for me. A couple things that makes this game very difficult to play is a lack of tutorials. The instruction manual isn't helpful either. The inability to save is a big problem making this a game you have to beat in one sitting, and the worst part is that after you loose all your lives you have to start over from the very first level no matter how far you get. MarkerMan also dies farily easy...one hit most time. The story is also really weak. all i could gather while playing is that you lose your dog and have to find him...and thats it, you're just looking for your dog. Drawing shapes also proves difficult seeing as how the 1 of the 4 shapes you can draw don't always form. the best part of the game in my opinion is choosing one of about four powers by incasing yourself in one of your shapes.
Whether you buy this game or not, it's up to you...but i sugest you rent it first.

My son loves playing this game when he's at his friend house. It was on his Christmas list so I decided to purchase it online. When he tried to play the game after he received it, it wouldn't play in his DS or load. I had to return it. I got great service for returning it and I am getting a full refund. They responded to my email in 24 hours!
