As a cocktail lover, I found this book a bit disappointing. The drinks are pretty, and the recipes do call for fresh ingredients. I have no doubt that they are tasty and would be big hits at upscale restaurants and bars. However, as someone who appreciates a wide variety of liquors and liqueurs as cocktail ingredients, it is disappointing that nearly all these drinks call for flavored vodka and juice. I was hoping for a little more variety, and a little less garnish.

I was looking for a seasonal cocktail recipe book, and this was the only one I was able to find. I purchased it after reading several positive reviews. It has a great intro into cocktail making, as well as suggestions for infused liquors. And the recipes are very creative, taking taste and aesthetics to a new level. I will say, however, that I wish there were more standard alcohols that were used in the recipes because frankly, I'm not going to go on a big hunt for pumpkin liquor, and it becomes a bit of a frustration when I try to find a cocktail that needs some obscure, expensive liquor that I'm not even sure that I'll enjoy. If anything, though, this book is helpful in encouraging us to use local and fresh ingredients, even in our cocktails. Most recipes are very easy to make, as long as you have access to the ingredients.

I love trying out new drinks and the cocktails that are in this book are not only new and unique, they're simply delicious. I've only tried a handful so far, but each drink has been incredibly tasty and surprisingly easy to make. And the best thing is you're using all fresh ingredients, and that makes such a huge difference. You will never want to mix a drink with anything else ever again!

If you like unique, fresh, delicious cocktails try at least one recipe from this book and I promise you will love every sip! My favorite drinks so far have been the Blueberry Lavender Mojito and the Fresh Strawberry Daiquiri. Yum!

This is a great book for your friends and family, too. I bought 3 extra copies to give as gifts. Friends are always asking for seasonal cocktail recipes for their parties and gatherings. This is the book. She explains every recipe and step. The drinks are delicious including the freshest Bloody Mary possible. Cheers!

I know from personal experience, that each new and different drink is just a great new way to see where Bridget is coming from, be it and old favorite or something new and exiting they are all great, the info on all aspects of Mixology is truly worth the read .Truly said a drink for all seasons is just a page away. Enjoy all that Bridget has written and mixed, and plus the tools of the trade are helpful to any one. As one famous person said shaken not stired, to shake a new mix is to wake up all the flavors and make them come to life. Thanks Bridget... Mike Shorewood Il.

Market-Fresh Mixology, is exactly what it says! Cocktails for every season. It provides fresh easy to follow recipes that are creative and delicious. I love that Bridget added a "Tool Box" section on each recipe that lists everything you need to create each cocktail. The homemade syrups are amazing, my favorite is the Honey Rosemary. The added history on the bottom of the classic cocktails is very interesting. Who knew that the Collins dates back to the late 1800's. When you make the cocktails they actually look like the picture which is an added bonus! Market-Fresh Mixology is my new favorite cocktail book.

The cocktail has long been the symbol of cultured elegance. Now Bridget Albert (a Master Mixologist at Southern Wine and Spirts, and the director of the Academy of Spirits and fine Services in Illinois) with the assistance of Mary Barranco (whose own career spans twenty years in the adult beverage industry) presents "Market-Fresh Mixology: Cocktails For Every Season", a veritable compendium of recipes and instructions for making memorable cocktails for every dining, partying, and celebratory occasion. Featuring both traditional cocktail recipes and contemporary innovative versions of this popular drink, "Market-Fresh Mixology" has a drink suitable for every season. Beautifully illustrated throughout, this compendium of recipes are organized into cocktails appropriate for Spring, Summer Autumn, and Winter. Of special note are the chapters on 'Home Bar Essentials' and 'Infusions'. An ideal and thoroughly 'user friendly' guide, "Market-Fresh Mixology" is enthusiastically recommended for both personal and community reference collections.

"Market-Fresh Mixology" is a creative tour de force, a collection of seasonal cocktails so stunning in appearance and brilliant in character that they could only have been devised by Bridget Albert. The inimitable Ms. Albert is one of the country's most celebrated and esteemed mixologists, and this guide on how to create drinks that sizzle and pop with vitality proves the depth of her talent.

I've spent more than 25 years working one side of the bar or the other, so I think I know my way around a mixed drink. After preparing a few of the cocktails in Bridget's book at our offices, I can now say without reservation that they all looked, smelled, and tasted like a perfect slice of heaven.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who believes life is too short to suffer lackluster cocktails.
