Great for a party and they look great!,
This review is from: Market Umbrella String Lights PATIO GARDEN PICNIC (Kitchen)
We purchased several sets of these lights for a party. They are different from traditional string lights as they branch out with a spoke configuration, so that you can run a string along each rib of the umbrella. Handy clear zip ties are included, making installation a snap. We liked them on our umbrellas so much, we haven't taken them down. They provide just the right amount of illumination needed to dine under the umbrella in the dark, and they make our patio look stunning when all of our umbrellas are lit up. While I would have preferred a brown wire so that they are less noticable during the day, they are pretty much out of the way and unnoticable - so not a real issue.

Okay, but not spectacular,

My lights came with cable ties, but no instructions. However, they are not too difficult to put on.
One thing is that the picture shows them on a 6 spoke umbrella, but the lights have 8 spokes. We just left the last two dangle, but I suppose they could be tied to one of the spokes that already have lights on them. They provide plenty of light at night, and look pretty nice.

It's not worth the money, all you get is a string of lights in a plastic bag, no clips, no wire ties, no instructions. The lights either slide down the umbrella arms or fall off when you close the umbrella. I gave it 1 star because the lights do work and it was required in order to write the review. I was able to pick up a set of lights at my local pool store, end of season sale for $3.49 which came with clips, wire ties, and instructions.

If I didn't already have umbrella lights, I would have found this package of strung lights perplexing and then frustrating. There are no directions...perhaps that's why they are so inexpensive! At the end of the day, it takes some thought and a little effort for perfectly functioning lights.

Our patio umbrella has 8 spokes at 53" each and this fit perfectly. The package included zip ties, but very limited instructions. We figured it out and only took my husband (working alone) about 20 minutes to install. Tip: start with the last strand and attach it to end of a spoke and work your way inward. The light is bright enough to be able to see what you are eating, but not overly bright, and doesn't seem to attract insects.

The wires dry rotted after 2 years and I had to throw the product away.

The string of lights was easy to install once I figured out what to do with the 2 extra strands. It has 8 strands and our umbrella only has 6 spokes. It was fairly easy to take the other 2 strands and attach them around the inner webbing at the top of the umbrella. We will be using them tonight for the first time. The only "down side" is that the string is white and our umbrella is green. Oh, well!

I have had the 8-spoke set of lights on my umbrella for about 4 years, using the lights 3-4 times a month through perhaps 5 months of the year, and came to this page to buy a replacement set or at least to find out what exactly are the specs of the replacement bulbs (I can't find the instructions). I have had quite reasonable service from the lights and they are a very nice addition to the umbrella. It probably did take an 1-2 hours to install the lights, given time to attach all the little zip ties and string an extension cord over the deck. Fortunately, as stated, the lead on the string is generously long. The only repair so far (besides now requiring some new bulbs) is that I had to replace the power plug on the string as it didn't take the California sun after perhaps 3 years. This shouldn't be a problem if the plug is in the shade. Otherwise, highly recommended.

For only few dollars these lights add ambiance and charm to your patio umbrella. Can't beat the price. Easy to install.
