Must read for all financial experts and wannabes,
This review is from: Market Whipped: And Not By Choice (Paperback)
Great book and very insightful! A must read for all those who think they are expert investors. Personally having predicted the 2008 financial meltdown and taking preventive actions, I thought I knew a think or two about looking for company/market predictors to make a trade. But post Obama inauguration the market behavior makes absolutely no sense.I believe the author is absolutely correct in comparing stock market to the gaming industry! No wonder I find the CNBC talking heads being way off the mark! Go read it and see what I mean!

Iallip Reviews,
This review is from: Market Whipped: And Not By Choice (Paperback)
Gasp at the bewildering array of forces and personality styles behind the black curtain that creates market volatility while understanding the dynamics. A book of incite no one else is willing to say.

This is NOT your typical business or economics book and in turn provides the reader with a totally unique perspective that can be counted on to enrich your knowledge while entertaining. I appreciate the style as no non-sense with a rare dose of humor and wit to accent the author's obvious in depth grasp of complex and very interesting subjects (investment, social/cultural trends, investor psychology, and present with future technology related to these issues). The author's futurist roots lend credibility to various very entertaining predictions. In short this book is a highly recommended buy from someone who delights in new frontiers of thought and insights that challenge one's "reality" in a manner that can potentially improve quality of life (as related to monetary affairs) and entertain at the same time. This is truly for those who consider themselves well read explorers of the broader subject areas as aforementioned in parenthesis and want to keep the adventure going. I also count myself fortunate to have shared this book with my college age son and found a rich conversation that way exceeded expectations. That alone makes this a book well deserved 5 star rating.

Without doubt, this is the funniest and most entertaining book that I've read about the markets during the past few years. It is dark, double-expresso humor with no sugar or whipped cream (well, maybe some whipped cream). This book is really about personalities - the daytraders, quants, institutions, and other players in the markets. Market Whipped is extremely current and timely. I was pleasantly surprised by how current stories and examples are. Foltz is a successful daytrader. She knows her stuff and has a very good sense of market structure. I'd like to see a bit more on how she reads the markets to build her own investment strategies. The last three chapters, in particular, contain hard-earned insights.
