Book Description

The condensed guide summarizing everything you need to know to help your business win in the Facebook Era: Learn tools from effective strategy to profitable execution, systems, and policies.

Like the Internet before it, Facebook is changing every aspect of business and society. Facebook has in fact become, for all intents and purposes, the new Web. What does this mean for your organization?

Fifteen years ago, we had to master email. Today, we must master Facebook to stay relevant with customers. Business leaders who cultivate fans on social media are reaping repeat sales, cross-sales, and referrals. Those who don’t are missing out on critical conversations and risking brand irrelevancy. 2010 was about social media strategy, vision, and learning. 2011 is all about execution.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brief overview April 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a brief overview (very brief) by Clara Shih, author of The Facebook Era, of some marketing practices available on Facebook. The author provided specific marketing examples using the Facebook interface. Whilst her examples are useful, they cater to mid and large sized companies. Moreover, she keeps referencing which is the company she works for. This company basically manages Facebook marketing for other companies.

This book may be a useful start-up guide that will help you in starting to think about your Facebook marketing plan. It does not provide much more information beyond that and pointing you in a marketing direction, i.e. the aforementioned company. This book is pretty much a marketing tool for the company.

Throughout the book I could not help but feel like I was being sold something (the Salesforce website). All the examples are focused on how that website helps you with Facebook marketing and organization.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview March 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was prepping for an interview and I needed to get overview of marketing techniques on Facebook. This book provided that. I think the scope of the book was exactly that. You can move on to other books for more details.

3.0 out of 5 stars too general, too impractical August 10, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
The book contains too much general information about facebook. Also it looks like a promotion of Hearsay Social, the product created by the author. There is some useful information for large companies having multiple branches, but it is related to Hearsay Social mainly.
