I've had a LinkedIn profile for some time now, but I keep feeling that I'm not utilizing LinkedIn to its full potential as a great place to connect with other professionals or potential clients.

Jamie Turner's book is written in an accessible, casual tone (can get a bit corny for me) without jargon, and it's not a dry business book. Actually, this book is quite short. I read the whole thing in 15 minutes, and there's lots of numbered steps with information broken down clearly enough for someone new to LinkedIn.

While the promise of the Title is "How to Make Money Marketing Your Business" I didn't see any specifics on using LinkedIn to make money. Instead it's a good overview of how to create a good quality profile, join groups and participate in discussions. This book would be handy next to your computer as you fill in a LinkedIn Profile, following the steps outlined.

I will say that Turner mentions LinkedIn "Answers" which is a special section that allows you to ask industry experts for answers to questions you have. That can be a great resource for askers, but as Turner points out, becoming an expert that answers questions in your industry could potentially create some good connections for you.

This is not a dry business book, although Linked-In IS a dry business networking entity
and this book attempts to enthuse the many people who have signed-on to Linked-In
-only to find it decidedly un-Facebook-like!

After reading this book, I still haven't progressed much farther with Linked-In
despite being enthused and educated while reading it.
If you suspect that Linked-In could really be the avenue of progress for your youthful ambition
DO buy this book, it WILL help!

I'm an avid user of social media networks, both because I like to waste time noodling around with my friends, but also because this is where all the oxygen is today in the online world. I'm not a super-robust user of social networks, but I do have a A Facebook Page, a Facebook Fan Page a Twitter account - and I'm on LinkedIn.

For what it's worth, my experience has been that LinkedIn is far superior in getting the results I want in terms of purely doing business. For me that means marketing and selling my ghostwriting services, and selling the ebooks I have written, which are available in the Amazon Kindle Store store. LinkedIn easily outperforms Facebook and Twitter for me.

So I was eager to see what Jamie Turner had to say in this offering, "How To make Money Marketing Your Business On LinkedIn."

This is a short piece that would not have been referred to as any kind of "book" in the "old world," but today an ebook is and ebook. This is actually more akin to a Special Report. Most people can get through it in about 30 to 45 minutes.

Does it deliver? I think it does, especially if you have worked very little with LinkedIn, or if you are one of those people like I used to be: I signed up for a LinkedIn account, and then ignored it for months on end. Turner points out that to get the most out of LinkedIn, you have to put some effort into it, and massage your presence and activity there. That means, he says, getting and staying active, joining groups, making more than just connections by developing deeper relationships - that kind of thing.

He also has some other decent tidbits of advice, such as taking advantage of LinkedIn's "Answer" section.(I'll say no more because I don't want to give his entire ebook away!

This very short book has little imformation that cannot be found in the tutorials on linkedin itself. What a gratuitous rip off. Not worth $1 much less $5.
