Steve Mitten's Marketing Essentials for Coaches covers everything coaches need to develop an ongoingly useful process for finding and attracting clients. What's unique in Steve's view about marketing is that he focuses on staying centered as an evolving professional and basing your client outreach on what is authentic to you, the coach. You won't reach every possible prospect, he clearly states, but you can focus on who are the best prospects for you. Steve provides very helpful materials on coaching niches, branding, outreach/networking, managing the emotional ups and downs of having your own business, and how to keep growing as a coach. As a graduate of Steve's year-long marketing program where we used this book as our guide, I can attest to its value in helping me learn how and where to focus my time and energy in building my coaching business.

This guy I think is considered a guru of coaching marketing. His book is very "coachy" in itself but it's a quick enough read and has some useful hints. Probably not the best if you don't feel like delving into your inner being to see how you want to market.

Steve has written the perfect handbook for coaches of all levels. He has mastered the articulation and teaching of a process to find a niche and build a coaches marketing campaign around that. I appreciate his easy style, compassion and empathy.

Steve Mitten discovered professional coaching in 1997 and knew he had found his calling. Prior to coaching, Steve spent many years in engineering, business and marketing. He has started five companies and been President and Managing Director of two public companies that allowed him to travel and work all over the world.

He is a Master Certified Coach and Business Strategist that works with leaders, executives, independent professionals and coaches, helping them find their passion, grow their strengths and enjoy far more meaning and success. His main website is
