5.0 out of 5 stars Beaultiful story!
If there is one harlequin presents you decide to read this spring, then please make it this one. It's no surprise that Michelle Reid is the author of this beautiful and emotionally moving book! This very talented author is one of the few still on my auto buy list from Harlequin and I only wish she would write a longer length romance in the future. This story grabs you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better...
Well based on all the recommendations I got for this book, I was expecting a lot more from it. Instead, I find myself terribly disappointed. At the beginning the two characters are immersed in their grief and it's easy to feel some compassion for them but as the story goes on, the hero becomes more than a cold blooded alpha male who can't control himself and wants to...

This story grabs you from page 1 and doesn't lose the momentum till the end. Andreas and Louisa share a beautiful chemistry strenghtened by their grief and the eventual joy they find together resulting in one of the most tender romances of this year. Very well done, Ms Reid and you truly have a fan for life!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Markonos Bride, August 7, 2008

Andreas Markonos cannot believe his eyes. His estranged wife has just stepped off the ferry onto Aristos Island. Andreas hasnĒt seen Louisa in five years. Not since their young son died, leaving a gaping hole in both of their lives and ultimately destroying their marriage. Through the years, both of them believed the other didnĒt care, but Louisa and Andreas are discovering that there was a lot more going on then they thought. But itĒs been five lonely, hard years for both of them. Is there enough love left to save their marriage?

The Markonos Bride is angst filled and heartfelt. Andreas and LouisaĒs emotions are vividly expressed. They were both hurt and never healed. Their love and desire for each other explodes off of every page. Andreas is often high handed and demanding. Louisa is strong enough to handle him but weak to his devastating charm. Andres is powerfully seductive. The Markonos Bride is full of emotion and drama. It's a wonderful story. It's romantic and passionate and has a perfect ending.

Well based on all the recommendations I got for this book, I was expecting a lot more from it. Instead, I find myself terribly disappointed. At the beginning the two characters are immersed in their grief and it's easy to feel some compassion for them but as the story goes on, the hero becomes more than a cold blooded alpha male who can't control himself and wants to "spill blood" when he's mad. Wow! That I could accept, but then this sort of comment from him to the heroine totally threw me off , "Shut up or I will murder you!" Even though this is fictional, no man should talk like this to a woman regardless of the level of his anger.

Now let's move on to the heroine who appeared very needy and annoying. SHe was kinda spoilt and it seemed she had already made up her mind before going to the Island and she was relunctant to change it even after the misunderstandings were cleared. She doesn't want to listen to him - so does he that matter. I felt no chemistry other than sex.

I kept waiting for that something special to happen but it didn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Heartwarming Tale, May 23, 2011

This book was really really good. The characters really touch you. Their tragedy and reunion is so heartwarming that even that best cynic could not doubt their story. Louisa and Andreas have solid chemistry and their romance is totally believable. There were moments when the alpha male behaves like a typical idiotic alpha male, but he makes up for it in the end.

The Markonos Bride (Romance Large Print)
read this book on kindle and am going to read up on the author because she can write!!!!!!!! This passion/emotion almost jumps off the page. She's able to capture the intensity of passion and love so strong that it can almost become consuming. I felt the pain and the love. I wished for more love from the heroine....she needed to match him more emotionally...but fell short. I felt the bit about her boss lessened her somewhat--and I'm surprised that that the writer didn't realize that.
