I have been searching far and wide for truly good decaf coffee. Not "good for decaf" coffee, but good coffee that happens to be decaf. With Marley's Simmer Down dark roast decaf, I have found "good coffee that happens to be decaf" for the second time. It joins Weaver's Coffee and Tea, Decaf Organic Blend Whole Bean Coffee, 12-Ounce Bags (Pack of 2) on the list of decaf coffee that is so good I drink it by choice because it's actually really good coffee and not merely because it's decaf.

The beans in the bag are of a consistent dark roast, to Full City+ or maybe even a light French roast level, but not at all burned or burned tasting. There is also evidently some care taken along the entire roasting and packaging process as there are very few broken or fractured beans in the bag. Grading is good with beans of uniform size and shape. The roast appears to be fairly fresh, showing no signs of the excess oil that accumulates on the surface of darkly roasted beans as they get old.

Per my usual habit, when this coffee arrived I ground a sample to pull a shot of espresso. No issues dialing this coffee in at all. First attempt gave 25-27 second pulls on double shots. Crema was very good. But what really counts is taste, so how does this coffee do on that front? In a word, excellent.

The results in the cup are, for lack of a better description, almost chocolatey, like a really fine high cocoa content dark chocolate. Not sweet mind you, but that same sort of richness. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. As a base for milk-based coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, again, just excellent.

After playing with espresso, I always come back and do a pour-over drip.

1st off I drink a lot of coffee, and I am always on a quest to find a better cup. My preferences are Tanzanian Peaberry, Kona, and Sumatra just to give you an idea of my taste. Now on to One Love. Absolutely love this coffee! Rich, smooth, little to no acidity. it is hands down in my top 3 and may be #1. Worth the little extra cash to thoroughly enjoy a nice cup of joe.... morning, noon, or night! I also recommend it in K-cups as well. Better than any K-cup coffee out there.

This is my favorite coffee; I will not buy anything else anymore since trying this a couple years ago. All of the Marley coffee is good, but the Lions Blend 2lb bag is the best value for every day coffee.

I was under the impression that all Marley coffees were organic (which was why I ordered this brand), but found out after I purchased it that 2 Marley coffee blends are not organic (my fault- the "rainforest certified" seal fooled me). This coffee blend is an excellent dark roast, not sure though if I like this one or Lion's Blend better. Some of the Marley coffees seem to taste a lot alike, with just subtle differences between them. I am trying other Marley coffee blends also, and have really enjoyed every one. Some dark blends bother my stomach and give me heartburn despite me eating an organic diet for the past couple years, but Marley coffees do not upset me. I have been drinking Allegro French roast, Early Bird, and Ethiopian blends from Whole Foods, but as long as I can get any of the Marley coffees cheaper through Amazon, then I will be switching from Allegro to Marley coffees.

I made sure to get ground, but it arrived whole bean. Pretty annoying. Taste is 5 stars but I'm not sure how to verify if i'd be receiving ground in the future.

Excellent Quality Coffee, the decaf is much better tasting than most of the other decaf coffees out there because of the process they use for getting the caffeine out of it. I make it in a coffee machine that grinds the beans just before using it so the coffee is as fresh as can be. Try this if you need decaf and if you don't try the one love regular coffee

This is great coffee! I've only tried the Lively Up and I'm ready to try the others. I think I've finally found the best darkest roast
coffee, way better than wimpy SB.
