I don't normally go out of my way to review books but I had to say, this book is cute, and my son actually loves it very much. I've had to read it every night for the past 2 weeks. However, there is baby talk in it that is so irritating to repeat and he uses the word "stupid" at the end of the book. I don't encourage the use of that word by my kids and I change it to "silly" but come on. It's a kids book, I shouldn't have to bother censoring it. Just sayin!

I myself am not a huge fan of the Marley children's books, however, my 4 year old daughter is. This one is especially her favorite because she says the dog and two cats on the cover look like our dog and cats (they kind of do.) She saw this book at Target and it was around $17.00, which is too much for me to spend on a children's book that has the possibility of getting destroyed by my two year old. I got the same book on Amazon for less then $10.00 and that is an awesome deal!

I wanted to add that I see this book is now $12.23, but when I purchased in late 2010 it was $9.89. Still a good deal though!

This is a good natured book, showing animals taking care of each other. My daughter loves the pictures and the story is not too long for her 18month old attention span. Totally recommend this book.

this is a great book for kids that have dogs and cats as pets. it is such a great story and the child that i read it to just loves it

The story in Marley and the Kittens is cute and very well-written/well-paced/well told. That said, I found the illustrations to be very unappealing. The proportions are inconsistent and off in a way that is puzzling at best (i.e. when a character is one size relative to its surroundings in one picture and another size in another). Sometimes the distortion is actually disturbing, i.e. I thought "Mommy" was a daughter or maybe a teenage babysitter. The baby is rendered in an odd shape, and overall there is a kind of 1950's illustration vibe going on that just doesn't work here. I wanted to like the book for the story alone, but illustrations are important in a picture book, and I found the ones in Marley and the Kittens to be a distraction.

I bought this book for my grandchildren. It is really a cute book. I love the art work as well as the story.

This follows the same pattern as the rest of the Marley books. Things get knocked, bumped and spilled but everyone loves Marley just the same. Nicely illustrated.
