Marley & Me is wonderfully written with many messages of love, frustrations, laughter, sadness, joy and pride we Lab owners share in common. Marley brings us all back to the basics of enjoying and living life to it's fullest potential. Then when life gets rough, during the aging process, a lesson of preserverence and focus is shared by man's best friend.

I have encouraged all of my friends to read this book.

We would find life boring without a Yellow Lab in our world! We are proud to share our lives with two; each having a vastly different personality. They are both trained in search and therapy work; in addition to being our best friends.

I love to read. I have read alot of books, I must say this is one of my favorites. My friend was reading this book one day, and when I saw the cover I thought it looked like a book I would really enjoy. The next day I was at the school library, borrowing the book.
The story line is based on a newlywed couple named John and Jenny. They decide they want an addition to their family, so they go to a farm and adopt Marley. Marley is a big, fun-loving yellow lab. From the minute they bring Marley home, Jenny and John fall in love him. As time goes by Marley turns out to be alot of fun, but also alot of trouble. Marley seems to think the furniture is a snack. He seems to think everything is a snack, and he is always hungry. Jenny and John decide to expand their family again, but this time with a baby. After the baby is born Marley feels like he is being neglected. Instead of him being the center of attention, now the baby is. The story goes on to tell all the trials and triumphs of a small family with a mischievous dog.
I felt this book had positive and negative points. I felt some of the positive points in the book were that even though Marley was far from a well behaved dog, the family still loved him. No matter what Marley did he had a way of making the family love him and they would never think of getting rid of him. After the baby comes Marley shows just as much love to the baby as he does for Jenny and John. One of the things I did not like about the book was that people seemed to judge Marley by only seeing him for the bad things he did and not for the truly loving dog he was. The thing that I didn't like most about the book is how sad it gets.
I am a 9th grader at Prospect High School. In my opinion this book is good for anyone who is an animal lover, especially if they love dogs. It is good for anyone who likes stories that have both happy and sad context. I think if you love dogs you will love this book. If you are someone who can't handle depressing or sad situations regarding animals,maybe you should stay away from this book.

Very funny and touching. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I can see why they would want to make a movie out of this book. The only problem I had with the book is that I always felt like I was missing out on something, like there were so many more stories for him to tell about Marley but he couldn't seem to fit them all in. It's understandable that he'd have a lot more to say than can go in a single book after years of living with a dog like Marley, but it seems more like he's remembering the stories out of sequence as the book goes along. It kind of ruins the flow of the story. Overall, it was a very good book and I recommend it.

The book is a great book. The product I received was not so great. I was under the impression the book was a new hard cover book which would have a book jacket. Not what was received. The book was definitely used...... dirty and no jacket. The book had food caked on it.

This is a wonderful story about a crazy dog who happened to find the best home and live an entertaining and funfilled life. It's not a perfect piece of literature but is just a no brainer, good read.

Marley and Me was a fantastic book! It was very descriptive with the activities that Marley did along the way of his life. In my opinion i believe that this book is to tell all those dog lovers out there that even if your dog is crazy, and not the worlds best dog, but that they are other dogs out there that are even worse then your dog, and you should love them for who they are. For example, in the end of the book John Grogan reads a bunch of letters that says that their dogs were even worse then Marley! Marley and Me is a wonderful book, and everyone should have a chance to read it!

Thumbs up! It's a rarity you come across a book that makes you laugh and cry. Bravo!

This book is the most amazingly well-written dog story of all time. Anyone who owns a dog, hopes to own a dog, previously owned a dog, or by poor circumstance has never had a dog should read this book. You will not be disappointed.

Then when you're finished reading the book, see the movie. It doesn't have everything in it the book does, but it does it justice.

Marley & Me is a classic.

If you have a dog or love dogs, this is a great book for you. My friend bought me the book on CD for a cross-country trip and I loved every second of it. I would recommend buying the Book on CD and putting it in for a long drive.
