I'm 10 years old. When Marley and Me came out in theaters, I went to watch it. We left halfway through it because it was totally not for kids. But we went to Blockbuster today and saw this. We thought it would be kid-friendly. It was! Marley is very cute, and I loved Godiva and the cat (because I love pugs and cats) but I thought the whole plot was so typical. And unlike the first one, Marley talked. Marley's voice sounded exactly like Butterball from the buddies movie. I didn't really have a problem with that, but I mean... a dog contest? "Bad guys?" It sounds a lot like Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. Or any other talking dog movie. It's pretty cute, but I figured out the whole thing before the movie was over. Maybe a little more for younger kids. Cute and Predictable. Talking and Typical. 3 of 5 stars.

I liked the first movie much better. It was much more interesting and emotionally engaging becuse you could see it was based on a real family with real feamily problems and dynamics. Even if the movie would have been based on a FAKE, MAKE BELIEVE FAMILY, the writing for the first movie was much better.

I loved Marley & Me. You can't even compare the two. Bad plot and acting. Very disappointing. Would not recommend anybody wasting time or money on this, especially if you are expecting the same caliper as Marley & Me.

I was duped into renting this movie. I thought it would be somewhat similar to the original Marley & Me, but it wasn't. This movie is very similar to the Air Buddies series. If you like those movies you might like this one. Otherwise you should just watch the old one again (or read the book.)

What can I say? YUCK! Not nearly as cute and funny as the first Marley & Me. Save your money, don't even bother renting it! I usually LOVE dog movies, but this was not at all what I expected.

The movie has a nice storyline. It is a bit boring at times for kids over the age of 12.

"The Puppy Years" is too foolish. Not only would an adult be turned off by the formula-driven aspect and over-acting, but I wouldn't expect a five-year-old child to be happy with it either. Was this film truly terrible? It is as close to a single-star as one can get.

On the other hand, I do recommend the original "Marley & Me" film. That film was tender, sweet, and also executed by professionals (on-screen and off).
