The Royal Cemetery at Tepe Marlik was excavated in one incredible 14-month season. This review is from: Marlik: The Complete Excavation Report (University Museum Monograph) (Hardcover)
Marlik was the royal capital of the Bronze Age culture commonly called Amlash. The undisturbed tell was excavated by trained archaeologists many years ago, including the author, and the Report is excellent in putting a context to artifacts on sale in the Antiquities market that are attributable to Amlash, including pottery, weapons and religious iconography. Volume 2 contains the photo plates and line drawings that are indispensible to the serious collector or student. I would recommend that anyone interested in this field also search out work by P.R.S. (Roger) Moorey of the Ashmolean Museum and Oscar Muscarella of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for other excellent works. E-mail me at JPisc98357@aol.com for any additional references. My primary interest is weapons and I would be happy to provide other sources for serious students.
