1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Jonathan Stiles on January 25, 2013
This bivy bag is only usable in winter weather -5°C or 23°F because the fabric is definitely NOT breathable membrane. I tried to used it in the Pyrenees in late summer and the condensation caused my sleeping bag to get soaking wet and heavy with water. I tried it last night sleeping on a frozen lake in Finland in -15°C or 5°F and it worked perfectly. Condensation occurs - as a normal function of human respiration - but at sub-zero °C moisture freezes in the bag and is not a problem. Just beat the bag after use and the ice crystals fall away. Of course you will need a 4 seasons sleeping bag (I use a Marmot Couloir and it's superb). Good combo. No need for tent or other shelter. Folded away it is extremely compact and light. I will take this bivy bag with me to do off-track skiing in Lapland.
