I live in the Rocky Mountains and wore this coat almost every day from fall to early spring. It was certainly my best purchase at the end of last summer. It is great as a jacket or as an insulating layer on those punishingly cold days. I have also used it as a pillow while winter camping...it has it's own pocket for stuffing on the inside zip or you can stuff it into the top of your mummy. There is a lot of loft to keep you toasty warm, this makes it a little boxy compared to other styles/brands. It also has a coating for water-repellancy. The white gets a bit dirty, but it is easy to clean.
