Great warm light bag,

I have had this bag on several trips into the western Sierra. I have never been cold in this bag. This bag is very light weight at 2 pounds and stuffed in it's sack it is half the size of a comparable synthetic bag. I wish I could afford two more for my boys so I won't have to lug their gear up! They will be old enough to carry their own gear soon enough I guess.I have only minor criticisms. I am 6'-2" and the zipper is just a few inches shy of being long enough to get my leg out easily. My bag does leak a few feathers on each trip out. I have a 2004 version of this bag so I don't know if they made any improvements or not. I figure if the leaking feather thing gets too bad I'll send it in to Marmot. Overall I really enjoy the light weight and small space requirements of this bag!

I don't know how they temperature-rate sleeping bags, but I know when I slept in this in the mid-20s I was barely warm enough. Maybe if I had been in a tent, or worn long underwear it might have been enough.I am amazed at how light and how small it packs down. And it's nice that they include a large storage bag so I can keep it clean and loose between trips. |
