Before buying this pack, I did a lot of research into finding the best lumbar pack. This one easily takes the cake. I love this pack, at first when I pulled it out of the box I thought the size was a bit small but I have totally changed my initial impression. I'm amazed by how much it expands and how much it can carry - comfortably! It's very clear that a lot of thought and research went into the development of this product, with all the little pockets, nooks and crannies - much better than a typical backpack "cell phone, pencil" holders. The pack is comfortable to wear all day, no stress or pressure points. Tons of pockets, even a luxurious, soft cloth lined pocket specifically for sunglasses! It's perfect for packing some sunglasses, a light lunch, water bottle, VHF radio, camera, and even tuck a rain coat under the top straps. We loved this pack so much, I bought another one for my significant other. Highly recommended!!

I use this to carry my tackle when surf fishing. It can easily carry 4 Plano 3213 Pocket-Pack 2 Sided Satchel in the two main compartments with room left over.

It's never a short or easy hike to the surf and this is the most comfortable way I've found to carry a compact, but heavy, load to the beach. Before I started taking out extra weights and other equipment I didn't need to carry, it weighed in at a whopping 22 pounds - and with two full bottles of water, it weighed just under 28 pounds.

It carries all of that weight without sagging or drooping or shifting or pulling back away from me.

And once I'm there, I can spin it around to my front side and easily get into the compartments and belt pockets. When it was really weighted-down and worn to the front, I'd wear the shoulder strap behind my neck and use it much like a chest pack - except it's a low chest pack that didn't inerfere with my arm motion.

For what this can carry, it's surprisingly small. It's not a small pack, but neither is it a huge pack, and a lot more fits into it than it looks like it can hold.

It's built with quality. There are no loose/frayed threads or fabric to be found. The zippers are substantial and work easily. The compression straps and waist belt are supple and smooth and will never chafe me. The compression straps are well-placed and cinch everything snug.

The attached carrying strap is strong and durable and is comfortable for carrying it when I'm not wearing it.
