Fit exactly how he wanted and the length was perfect.
They kept my legs very warm, but not overly warm, which was another great benefit.
Took these pants on a 2 day ski trip and stayed completely dry the whole time.

About Marmot
In April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska on the Juneau ice fields for a Glaciology school project. This was where the idea of Marmot, originally a collegiate climbing club, began. Reynolds and Huntley soon began making prototypes of down products such as vests and sleeping bags in their dorm room in Santa Cruz. By the spring of 1973, Reynolds and Huntley partnered with fellow climber Tom Boyce to open a modest rental and retail location, named Marmot Mountain Works, in a 100-year-old building in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Their first large order was for 108, as the producer called them, ""very puffy jackets"" for the movie The Eiger Sanction, with Clint Eastwood, which helped make down outerwear fashionable. In 1976, Marmot was one of the first companies to recognize the value of a new technology being developed by W.L. Gore & Associates. Marmot was soon producing waterproof Gore-Tex sleeping bags, with Reynolds and Huntley testing early prototypes by sleeping in meat lockers and under fire sprinklers, and later introduced the waterproof/breathable fabric into nearly all Marmot products.

From humble beginnings, Marmot and its product line have grown over the years, and today the company is headquartered in Rohnert Park, California, with offices all over the world and distribution in more than 60 countries.

The photograph describing the pants are for the "Mantra" not the Motion. The motion pants have far fewer pockets, but serve the same purpose. I should have done the research before I submitted my order.

The three things above were what I was looking for in a pair of snow pants. I do a number of winter activities, the most frequent being snow shoeing. I have taken these out on a few times for walks through the woods, and have found them to be exactly what I needed.

The outer material is not quite as soft as a soft shell. Thus it's a bit noisy than a soft shell, but no where near the noise of windbreaker material. While walking with snowshoes, which naturally keep your legs apart, I wan't bothered by the sound at all.

There are three pockets, all good size. The "hand" pocked are a bit odd in that they open to the front instead of the back. But they are zippered so I felt very comfortable storing my keys, wallet, and cell phone. The other pocket is not zippered, which is slightly disappointing in case of a fall. But it is spacious, and contained my point and shoot camera (Lumix LX 7) nicely.

They kept my legs very warm, but not overly warm, which was another great benefit. I would definitely recommend these to others.

Just went out for my first day skiing in these bad boys. Perfect shell to ski in. Plenty of room in the back yard. I put suspenders on them and ski loose so no binding. Great water and weather proof. Just bought another pair for my son.

My husband is 6'6". He wanted orange ski pants because our grandson's favorite color is orange but because of his height, we are always cautious about ordering ski pants for him online. These were perfect!!!! Fit exactly how he wanted and the length was perfect. And they were delivered right and right on time! Thank you!

I really like these pants, but when I ordered them, I was replacing a Large and moving to an XL, but the XL was too small. I ordered a new pair in a XXL and they were hanging off of me. I wish there was more adjustment in the waist. Other than that I like them.

I like them. As I expect from Marmot, they are well designed and they feel durable. They're comfortable and completely waterproof. I took them snowboarding, and they kept me warm and dry. No problems. :)
