works,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These pants work. I put them on & took a shower. They stayed dry. I wore them outside in the rain. Dry & breathable. No swamp crotch. They're lightweight & can be worn over slacks or pants while I ride my bicycle. I will be testing them on sailing trips & mountain climbs this summer. We'll see how they do. So far so good. Thanks Marmot!

The pants I want, in a size thats not true.,
By Unfortunately, a size 2XL is approx. an XL(14w/36m) -- which makes me very sad... I really wanted to like and wear these pants!

Contact seller first!,
By As you probably noticed, this page contains images of both rain pants and tee-shirts. If you plan to order either from this site, I recommend contacting the seller first! Because the title says PreCip pants, I assumed that was what I was ordering; but I ended up with a tee-shirt. Save yourself the time and hassle of making a return, and make sure you and the seller both know what you're buying.

Work well, but are not for extreme conditions,

I put these uninsulated rain pants to the test during an unexpected rain/wind/snowstorm in New Jersey at the end of October while shoveling wet snow from my driveway for over an hour. Here is why I like them.1. I slipped these over a pair of dungarees and stayed warm and dry. 2. The zippers are easy to use, and are covered by storm flaps. However, the zippers are not waterproof (other rain gear has waterproof zippers that seal out all water when zipped; not so with these zippers). For ordinary use this works fine. My dungarees did not get wet at all. However, these pants are not what you want on a long hike for hours in a driving rainstorm since the water will inevitably start penetrating the zippers. 3. These fit well, though they do run a bit small. My waist is 34" and the medium size fits snugly (though not uncomfortably). If you like a "roomier" feel, then consider sizing up, just keeping in mind that the pants legs may be longer. 4. The pants are definitely waterproof and breathable. I plan to use them not just for clearing snow from my driveway, but also for snowshoeing on warmer days when I don't need insulated ski pants. Bottom line: For my purposes these work fine. For extreme conditions, I would choose a pair of rain pants with waterproof zippers. I deducted one star because at this price point the zippers should be waterproof. |
