Magnetic sleep mode works well.

The holders (rubber corners) are well made and secures the iPad in place very well... That's the only thing that actually holds up on this cover.
Martin
Protects the iPad very well, great feel, nice design.

The Maroo Koe 2 cover for iPad has a very nice appearance and there are several different styles available for the Maroo covers. It is stylish and has a little bit of storage for a few papers or business cards. The bumpers to hold the iPad provide good protection and the cover feels sturdy. There are two variations on how to view the iPad - one is good for a desk or tabletop and one is better suited for casual browsing on your lap.

The flaw that I see with the Maroo cover is with the magnets. They put the iPad to sleep or wake it up. This feature, in general, is great to have. When you open the cover the iPad awakes and when you close the cover the iPad is put to sleep. I have an iPad smart cover from apple and the magnets are strong and work as designed. However the Maroo magnets are not strong enough so what happens is that as I move the iPad even slightly I hear that click of my iPad waking and then another click of my iPad going to sleep if I move the iPad again. So while the Marcoo cover has some nice features and look, I wouldn't recommend it based on the magnets.

I use a protective cover when I am transporting my iPad and therefore it is not plugged in. With the poor magnets in this cover my battery would be drained by all the waking and sleeping. Plus, the constant clicking is annoying. However there are two straps on the inside cover that you can use to secure the front cover to the back. This eliminates the constant clicking.

So bottom-line is, if you don't mind having to undo the straps each time you want to use the iPad while in this cover, then the cover is a good value. But if you want to quickly just close the cover, walk to another meeting or location and open it, you may get annoyed with the straps.

Maroo Koe II Cover for iPad 2 (M-135)

When I had an original iPad I eventually collected about a half dozen cases and covers for it. The longest lasting of that group was the Otterbox Defender OtterBox APL2-iPAD1-20-C4OTR iPad Defender-Series Case. It made the iPad a tank but I never feared dropping it. This time around with the iPad 2 I'm now up to three covers, including this Maroo red plaid and leather case. I have mixed emotions about this one. I like the overall look of it, the red and black looks cool with a white iPad inside. I like the way the iPad is gripped on the four corners to secure it to the case. It really lets the beauty of the iPad shine, at least the front of it. I also have the Snugg Snugg iPad 2 Leather Case Cover and Flip Stand with Elastic Hand Strap and Premium Nubuck Fibre Interior (Black) - Automatically Wakes and Puts the iPad 2 to Sleep. Superior Quality Design as Featured in Wired Magazine. case and as nice as that case is the iPad gets buried inside of it and it's more about the case than the iPad.

The Maroo gives up some of itself to the iPad and that's a good thing. One of the features is the magnetic Apple Smart Cover Apple iPad 2 Polyurethane Smart Cover - Blue (MC942LL/A) emulation. When you open it the iPad 2 senses it and lights up, close it and it goes to sleep. The problem is that it doesn't work well. Because of the soft spine it's very easy for the front of the case to slide around just a little bit. When that happens, the iPad wakes and sleeps and clicks.

Getting an iPad 2 was kind of a fluke for me so when I got it I had no idea what was out there as far as cases, covers, screen protectors and such. To make it worse, when it comes to buying a protective case for my gadgets I am picky. Super picky. I have my wishlist of desired qualities and they've all got to be met to a four-star standard or I won't go for it. I want #1 good protection with portability in mind, #2 not to spend half the cost of the gadget to get it and #3 being attractive enough I don't want to hide it. The Maroo Koe II met all three with flying colors.

Made of nylon (the plaid part) and soft suede it's not a bulky cover. Keeping that in mind this won't offer significant drop protection but provides adequate protection for most everyday situations. The amazing Bumper thingy that holds the iPad 2 in though is my new best friend. The support there is exceptional and works perfectly with my ZAGG InvisibleSHIELD for iPad 2, Screen (APPIPADTWOS). That this cover still allows me to have a good screen protector in place earns it brownie points in my book. Two elastic loops flip from the inner cover around the back to keep it in place when in a backpack or at your beside and also will hold the cover open if desired. Using the same magnetic technology as the Smart Covers the front cover sticks gently to the iPad 2 as well as offering the same on-off feature. It also has the ability to fold into two different standing positions while in landscape mode.

Now I have two issues I do want to mention. The first is that while I love having full access to my buttons and charging port I wish the port had a little better protection when not plugged in.
