Book Description

A USA TODAY BESTSELLING STORY (IN A COLLECTION)!

“I love everything about this book. It's such a breath of fresh air from the current crop of doom and gloom romances” LucyITSWD, Amazon reader

“Love, sex, great storyline is the norm for this author. Highly recommended per usual. Oh and I forgot humor too!” C Mahoney, Amazon reader

“Witty Writing, Biting Humor, Great Story!” Chasmm, Amazon reader

Rebecca Hall is clear about three things in life:
1. Inflation
2. The IRS will get you if you don’t pay your taxes, and
3. The fact that she hates newly minted rock star, Kurt Taylor, to the very depths of his extremely depraved guts.

They have a bad history, yes, but it’s not what anyone thinks. Just when she thinks he’s out of her life for good, she meets him again on a cruise ship to the Bahamas.

But wait. He’s a super-famous rock star, right? Then what the hell is he doing in a cleaning crew’s overalls, pushing around a mop? What has he done to merit such a drastic fall from grace?

All this would be explained in good time, except that a freak thunderstorm at sea throws Rebecca and Kurt overboard, and they have to swim for their lives to a deserted island. It’s one thing to (barely) survive each other, but what other disturbing secrets does the so-called ‘island’ hold for them?

MAROONED WITH THE ROCK STAR is a 181-page full-length rock star romance novel that will make you laugh and cry and weep with the characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Me = Rocked! October 2, 2013

I've read a few rockstar romances now, and I do enjoy them, but sometimes they can be a little too similar for my tastes. It's nice to have something familiar, but I think some of the best stories take a different sort of twist with the things that we're all familiar with, you know?

Marooned with the Rock Star is definitely like that! This is a playful and fun story with a really different take on the rockstar hero. I loved the sort of realism behind Kurt and his band endeavours. And... I mean, by realism, I mean it just made sense. His backstory was a little silly at times, but in a good way. I think these kinds of things could probably happen to anyone, which is a lot of fun.

This is going to sound a little weird, but it kind of reminded me of some of the parts from Fifty Shades in that way. If you've read those books, you'll probably know what I mean. Like... it's "serious" but there are some flirty fun parts that are amusing and more playful than anything. This book is like that, but then with a rockstar, a cute and curvy girl, and a cruise ship.

I liked the idea of the cruise ship stuff, too. I haven't read many cruise ship books, and I've never been on a cruise, so I kind of enjoy reading about people being on them. It's interesting and neat. Sort of off topic there, but I just like the cruise ship stuff!

The chemistry between Rebecca and Kurt is great, too! Right from the start, there's some crazy action going on between them (not sexual right away, but pretty crazy), and the whole thing just spirals into something amazing from there. I loved the romantic comedy aspects of this story a lot and I think Dawn Steele did a great job of portraying some realistic, yet entertaining and funny characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read! October 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I am reading this in the Rock Star Romance boxed set of 12 stories that is 99 cents for a limited time. This is a great story with a twist. What happens when you get caught and charged with D.U.I.? You are sentenced to do community service work on a cruise ship. This is what happens to Kurt Taylor, lead singer of the rock band Red Velvet. Rebecca Hall is an assistant at a senior care home and the seniors are on a cruise ship. Rebecca and Kurt have a history and they hate each other. Can they stay away from each other with no where to run? When Rebecca is swept off the ship by the wind of a freakish storm, Kurt jumps in to save her. And remembers after he jumps that he can't swim. They end up on a deserted island hoping they are rescued. They are alone except for the monkey, at least that is what they thought. The twist was not what I was expecting but it made the story better for me. great job Dawn Steele.

2.0 out of 5 stars Incongruous storyline July 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
History of story / background not well established or easily followed. Ending sucks - hard to explain why. Even the few gratuitous sex scenes were sorely lacking in passion and detail. Sorry.....not my best read and easily forgettable.
