4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Glasses... but
As other reviewers said, these are heavy, good-sized glasses that are very nice. However, if you are an owner of Waterford crystal, you can tell the difference between the Marquis (which is machine-made) vs. hand-made Waterford lead crystal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not "real" Waterford
If you're looking for some robust, functional glasses, these are certainly nice enough. They're rather large and thick with a simple cut glass pattern on them. However, if you're familiar with "real" Waterford - the type made by hand in Ireland - the difference between this and that will slap you across the face. These are nice, not beautiful. They are decorative, not...

Recently purchased 2 sets as a gift for my daughter and her husband. They had no wine glasses and absolutely love these! I thought they would be beautiful and when they came, I was even more impressed. They are definitely Waterford quality and appearance. Nice and heavy; well balanced base. Perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Poor packing job by Amazon but lovely glasses, July 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered these when they were a Friday sale special sold directly through Amazon for $29. Unfortunately they were sent without much packing protection and three of the glasses were broken. The one that survived was a beautiful heavy glass that looked very expensive. Amazon took them back without issue and they say they will get more in stock. I'm hopeful to get a perfect set of these gorgeous glasses. They look like they will be the perfect addition to a holiday table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking for the price!!, August 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
One day I woke up and said, "I must have heavy crystal wine glasses!" I mean, you only live once, right? So I ordered a set of 4 here for $29.99 (used opened box). Arrived in perfect condition, and are stunning!! Macy's sells these for $25/each or a box of four for $100. This is quite a steal for Waterford crystal goblets. I am asking for the flutes and more goblets for Christmas from the hubby!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Goblets, November 1, 2010

The Brookside design is a heavy cut crystal and very attractive. These goblets, however, are nearly too large for practical use. They are more like an iced beverage size than a red wine size; and they are the only "bowl" shaped goblets in the Brookside line. However, for the price, they are unbeatable if you want Waterford on your table (even if it is Marquis by Waterford).
Looks like Amazon put this review on ALL the Brookside Marquis goblets & glasses we purchased. It was meant ONLY for the red wine/all purpose goblets. The white wine goblets were a very nice size. We intentionally purchased the over-sized old fashion glasses, and you know when you are holding a drink in those-- very heavy! The iced beverages would be perfect, also, but for the fact that the red wine goblets are bigger than they are.
Regrettably much of the Brookside line has been discontinued--martini glasses are hard to come by and very pricy and high ball glasses are priced like real Waterford (not Marquis). So if you want everything to match, this is not the design to choose. But if you want an impressive set of cut crystal to set your table with, $10 per stem for Brookside is a steal.

I sent a set of these Marquis by Waterford Brookside Goblets to a very dear friend for Christmas. I found them on a shopping channel. It was a good deal. My friend raved about them so much, I decided to order a set for myself. However, I ordered mine from Amazon.com, a better deal. When I received them, they were packaged so well. When I finally got through the packaging to the goblets, I was incredibly happy ~~ they are stunning. I love the clink of the crystal. These are a little thicker than crystal I am used to. But, I like it better because the fear of a chip or crack is taken away. I had a couple of friends over and they were delightfully impressed.

If you are considering ordering these, GO FOR IT!!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, attractive glasses., April 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
So I'm not a crystal snob or expert, but I drink regularly enough and I like nice sturdy glasses to put my spirits in that flatter the liquids inside them. These glasses are lovely, they are eye-catching but not too fancy. They reflect light really well in dimly lit situations and make whatever you're drinking very pretty, especially if it's amber colored on the rocks.

They also feel nice and substantial, especially because I've got big hands and like things that I can grip confidently. Others with not so burly mitts may feel differently.

But the package did arrive with 1 glass broken - because I only really needed two I wasn't particularly inspired to complain and return it, but be forewarned that that may be a problem for some. Which confuses me, because they're as sturdy as crystal gets, hardly wine glasses. I guess that's more a comment on the postal system than on the actual goods - I can only imagine what might happen to their stemmed glassware during shipment.

But buy it anyway, you'll be happy even if you only get 3 after all.

Theses are not for your everyday take out. These are serious goblets for serious beverages. That being said, I do use them everyday for a feeling of satisfaction.
