Many years ago I purchased two of these decanters for myself at a local department store for about the same price as I bought this one for a friend's birthday present. Mine and hers have been indispensible for serving our favorite red wines when we entertain or to just open up a nice bottle of red wine that needs to breathe. The flat bottom style gives the wine room to breathe more and the narrow neck makes holding the decanter easy even when swirling the wine to open it up faster when we are impatient on some cheaper red wines that need just a little help to bring the bouquet out.
