4.0 out of 5 stars Different with a heroine that is gutsy & not a push-over for once!
I don't like to give away much plot-line, because I find it can ruin the enjoyment of surprise; so I like to share thoughts & impressions of a book, instead--especially if someone has already gone over the main points.

If you are tired of a woman being a push-over, then you should love this book. Kristy is a force to be reckoned with, and I really liked her...

I don't like to give away much plot-line, because I find it can ruin the enjoyment of surprise; so I like to share thoughts & impressions of a book, instead--especially if someone has already gone over the main points.

If you are tired of a woman being a push-over, then you should love this book. Kristy is a force to be reckoned with, and I really liked her style of not backing down or being intimidated by *anybody* she came in contact with. There were some surprises in this book because of that different type of personality than the normal Harlequin heroine character, and some of them took getting used to, which I liked, also.

I felt like I knew the 2 main characters, Kristy and Armand, quite well by the end of the book; and fell in love with their love story. There were some wonderful divine interventions or coincidences in this book, which gave it a special quality I have never come across in this type of book, before.

The story takes place in France, with the main hero Armand a native. There is some satisfying verbal butt-kicking that the heroine does against those who hurt a relative she never met, and I was *so* glad not to see another woe-is-me victim that still maintained her femininity & charm. Too many times there are unresolved issues that leave us feeling unsatisfied, so seeing every important loose end tied up was fantastic.

Emma Darcy has a winner in this book. I hope many people will buy it and enjoy it, like I did!

1.0 out of 5 stars Real, July 18, 2011

A Marriage BetrayedThis is a sick plot. This story is about a woman, Kristy, who visits someplace in honor of her adopted parents and runs into the husband of her identical twin Collette (that she never knew she had). The romance is between this woman Kristy and the husband (Armand) of the twin...the twin who disappeared from the marriage two years prior and he never heard from again. The twin left him with two kids without a trace. Why would anyone think this type of plot is anyway romantic I really don't know. Sounds more like a tragic thriller.
