Coffee Beans and Love Scenes Review of "The Marriage List"

Review:

The camaraderie between Grey and his best friends, the Four Horsemen, is so perfect. It's like I was a fly on the wall listening...and Grey's worries with finding the perfect woman/match for him... if only most men thought like that. Joachim touches every possible aspect of a relation with Grey and Carrie. I especially love the sibling connection with Grey and Jenna- their dinner conversation had me smiling making me recall similar conversations with my older brother- realistic and heart-warming.

The love-hate moment when Carrie and Grey first meet is superb. I fall for those genuine moments every time- yes, I'm a a sap especially when I know what happens later down the line. Joachim doesn't fail to entertain, create a well written love story and believable characters. And ah, the marriage list Grey has...and shares with Jenna, who inadvertently...well, read it and you'll see. LOVED it! This is a list women have... not the men. *Nice little twist Ms. Joachim!*
Joachim delves deep into Grey and Carrie's lives individually and as a couple, she leaves no stone unturned in The Marriage List.
This is a must-have love story for all romance readers. It gives you back the feeling that true loved does exist.

The Marriage List is one of those romance novels that makes you smile with that glowing, all is right with the world, feeling. I have to admit I instantly fell in love with Grey. He is a man on a romantic mission and I applauded him every step of the way. Carrie is a strong yet vulnerable woman that I related with. The romantic tension makes this novel a page turner- congrats on a wonderful novel!!

Disheartened by the complaints of his friends concerning their marriages, Grey sets out to find the perfect wife. Ever since he was young he has wanted to be married and have a family, and has worked his entire adult life toward that goal. He has lived and dated frugally in order to save the money for marriage. I found this a bit atypical of most men, but the author made it believable and made it work for Grey. I had no doubts this is what he wanted and that he was sincere about it.

Then we meet Carrie, who works at an advertising agency as a copywriter. Her career is moving upward, and it is about to move very fast. She takes on a much larger project which happens to put her into contact with Grey. I liked Carrie in general. She's a young career oriented woman. She is the type of woman who doesn't mind unbuttoning a couple buttons before a business meeting. To me, this kind of seemed opposite to the type of woman I thought of her as. She seems like an intelligent and independent woman who wouldn't need to resort to such things. There were some other comments that kind of ruffled the feminist in my feathers, but after a quick reminder to my feminist side that women want to be empowered to choose their future, not have it chosen for them, and her choices were valid and her own.

Sparks and chemistry, fire between them ignites. A business dinner date and then a couple of real dates later, and there is no doubt, they are both in it for the long haul - even if they don't know that themselves. There are kisses that are deep and sensual, flirting that increases your heart rate. I definitely enjoyed watching the progression of their infatuation into romance and love. The sexual scenes were steamy and sensual.

All in all, I really enjoyed this story.

You will instantly fall in love with Grey the leading male. Women will fall in love with him and men will want to be him. I can actually see this being a movie whether it be for TV or the big screen. A love story that many can relate to. An epic read.

I fell in love with Grey immediately. He is the man every woman wants to find. Carrie is strong & caring. I was totally enthralled by this story. Ms. Joachim's writing had me emotionally involved throughout the whole book. I look forward to seeing more of Grey & Carrie.

This is a beautiful story about how two characters, Carrie and Grey fall madly in love with each other. It was a very romantic love story, with minor angst. With these types of books, it's always annoying when other reviewers point out the lack of detail and character development. People you bought a novella not a novel!! I think for the length of the book, the author did a fine job giving us background of both Carrie and Grey. We understood where they had come from and where they wanted to be. However, at the same time I would love to see this author write another book highlighting when the happy couple meets up with her parents/family (given the back story that has already been described) - I think that would be a fun read, as well. This is a quick read, did it in two hours - sometimes that's all I want and/or have time for.

I don't dare say this was was a "cute" books because I know this author and she will kill me. So. I will instead say, the Marriage list was a light enjoyable read. The characters were likable, the supporting characters, especially Grey's sister Jenna were wonderful. I loved the banter between Grey and Jenna.
I thought Carrie Tucker was a great female lead, smart, sassy, and a real go getter, but underneath a little insecure (just like us all) I could really relate to her.
The romance progressed at a nice pace, the love scenes were hot, and the chemistry was great between Grey and Carrie.
Overall, a wonderful read for a gloomy afternoon that leave you with a smile on your face and a lighter heart.
Thank you, Jean. :)

Grey wants 3 things in the woman he will marry. To be smart and talk to him,to much his sexual appetite(the book is not for adults only) and to make a confotable house. He has been saving money for 10 years and decides it's time to settle down.
After 3 years searching he finds her.Her name is Carrie and she is everything he wants in a woman.

Finally a book were the main characters have a normal human relationship. They have problems and dilemmas and their relationship is exactly like a normal relationship should go.It didn't have heartache or stupid misunderstandings and that definitely give some points to the book
