Book Description

Can happily ever after start with a list? Grey Andrews thinks so. After ten years of working, saving and investing, Grey finally achieved a level of wealth that allows him to do what he wants with his life. He needs a woman to share it with, but not any woman, the perfect woman. A woman who has the three essential qualities on his marriage list. But after three years of searching he isn’t any closer to finding her than he was when he started out.
Carrie Tucker, an aspiring mystery writer and divorcée struggling to make it in the world of advertising, turned her focus from men to her career after dating too many creeps and losers. She’s finally earned her big break, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the first female creative director in a hot New York ad agency. So what if it means working nights and weekends? It’s not like she has a social life anyway.
Is the marriage list a failure or will a chance meeting at a fiction-writing conference prove the list to be the key to Grey’s happiness after all?

Editorial Reviews

Coffee Beans and Love Scenes Review of "The Marriage List"

The camaraderie between Grey and his best friends, the Four Horsemen, is so perfect. It's like I was a fly on the wall listening...and Grey's worries with finding the perfect woman/match for him... if only most men thought like that. Joachim touches every possible aspect of a relation with Grey and Carrie. I especially love the sibling connection with Grey and Jenna- their dinner conversation had me smiling making me recall similar conversations with my older brother- realistic and heart-warming.
The love-hate moment when Carrie and Grey first meet is superb. I fall for those genuine moments every time- yes, I'm a a sap especially when I know what happens later down the line. Joachim doesn't fail to entertain, create a well written love story and believable characters. And ah, the marriage list Grey has...and shares with Jenna, who inadvertently...well, read it and you'll see. LOVED it! This is a list women have... not the men. *Nice little twist Ms. Joachim!*
Joachim delves deep into Grey and Carrie's lives individually and as a couple, she leaves no stone unturned in The Marriage List.
This is a must-have love story for all romance readers. It gives you back the feeling that true loved does exist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!! November 15, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The Marriage List is one of those romance novels that makes you smile with that glowing, all is right with the world, feeling. I have to admit I instantly fell in love with Grey. He is a man on a romantic mission and I applauded him every step of the way. Carrie is a strong yet vulnerable woman that I related with. The romantic tension makes this novel a page turner- congrats on a wonderful novel!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real NY love story December 29, 2011

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
You will instantly fall in love with Grey the leading male. Women will fall in love with him and men will want to be him. I can actually see this being a movie whether it be for TV or the big screen. A love story that many can relate to. An epic read.

I fell in love with Grey immediately. He is the man every woman wants to find. Carrie is strong & caring. I was totally enthralled by this story. Ms. Joachim's writing had me emotionally involved throughout the whole book. I look forward to seeing more of Grey & Carrie.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful, Awful, Awful February 20, 2013
By Julia K
Format:Kindle Edition
I read a lot of books. Great books, good books, okay books, and no-so-good books. This book was in a category all its own. It is possibly the worst book i have ever read. I wonder if this book was self published? A vanity project?

The plot was flimsy, the characters one dimensional at best, the conflict contrived and boring.

Upon closer examiniation, I suspect many of the positive reviews were all written by the same person. I feel cheated.

Do yourself a favour and don't buy this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars The guy on the cover reminds me David Tennant March 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Grey wants 3 things in the woman he will marry. To be smart and talk to him,to much his sexual appetite(the book is not for adults only) and to make a confotable house. He has been saving money for 10 years and decides it's time to settle down.
After 3 years searching he finds her.Her name is Carrie and she is everything he wants in a woman.

Finally a book were the main characters have a normal human relationship. They have problems and dilemmas and their relationship is exactly like a normal relationship should go.It didn't have heartache or stupid misunderstandings and that definitely give some points to the book

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a really good novella! September 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a beautiful story about how two characters, Carrie and Grey fall madly in love with each other. It was a very romantic love story, with minor angst. With these types of books, it's always annoying when other reviewers point out the lack of detail and character development. People you bought a novella not a novel!! I think for the length of the book, the author did a fine job giving us background of both Carrie and Grey. We understood where they had come from and where they wanted to be. However, at the same time I would love to see this author write another book highlighting when the happy couple meets up with her parents/family (given the back story that has already been described) - I think that would be a fun read, as well. This is a quick read, did it in two hours - sometimes that's all I want and/or have time for.

More About the Author

I didn't start writing until about 17 years ago. I had two small children and used to get up at 5:30am to write for two hours before they got up.
No one believed I could be a writer...least of all me...but I was driven to do it anyway. Like an addict I was compelled to write.

I started out writing 500 word articles on advertising, business and parenting, based on my own experience. Lo and behold, after my first article failed, everything else I wrote got published.

This was exciting and encouraged me to attempt my first book, "Beyond the Bake Sale, the Ultimate School Fund-Raising Book."

I got an agent from a friend of mine and she found a top publisher, St. Martin's Press, with a fabulous editor, Elizabeth Beier and I was off.

After six more non-fiction books were published, I tried my hand at fiction. One cold day in January, while I was recuperating from loss and illness, Callie and Mac landed in my head and told me their story. I flew to my computer to get it all down, just the way they were telling me.

"Now and Forever 1, a Love Story" was born. The characters have no resemblance to anyone I know and, least of all, to me. They are completely formed total strangers that leaped out of my head and onto the page.

It was a wonderful experience, listening to their story. I fell in love with them. After the book was done, I couldn't let them go. They were kind enough to bring another character to the forefront, Danny Maine who told me his story and "Now and Forever 2, the Book of Danny" was born.

After that I became a writing machine, writing seven days a week as many as seven hours a day. I finished "Now and Forever 3, Blind Love", the first two books in the Moonlight Series: "Sunny Days, Moonlit Nights" and "April's Kiss in the Moonlight". And the first two books in The List series: "The Marriage List" and "The Love List". I have completed two more series, "Hollywood Hearts" and "The Manhattan Dinner Club". I'm currently working on a football romance series.

I'd like to thank my readers. I hope you will keep reading as I intend to keep writing until the stories run out, which doesn't appear to be soon! Thank you for buying and reading my books.

Best wishes,
