About the Author
Laura Bustani was born in Beirut, where her father was an expert dealer in Turkish carpets of Oriental antiquities. In 1936 she married Emile Bustani, a graduate of the American University of Beirut who was soon to make his mark on the Middle Eastern business scene with his Construction and Trading Company - CAT- famous for its logo of a black cat. After Emile's death, she became a highly repected businesswoman in her own right in Lebanon, continuing her late husband's work and travelling the world on behalf of the family's companies.
