OUR GOD RESTORES--HIS LOVE REIGNS!!!,
This review is from: Marriage Undercover: Thriving in a Culture of Quiet Desperation (Paperback)
I started reading this book on a Sunday after it was recommended to all of the women of my church by our Pastor's wife as the August reading. I thought, I will take my time and read it. Once I started, I could not stop, I finished it the same day. I am still a newlywed (married 2 years) and I want my marriage to look like this! It took this tragedy & pain to get where God wanted them to be. I will take heed not to be off guard and think adultery could never happen to us, and guard my heart and PRAY that my husband and I can know each other and GOD the way Bob & Audrey do. It was BRAVE & AWESOME how they BOTH let GOD take-over after they LET IT GO. It was awesome to see the LOVE in the body of Christ that poured out to them. It was LOVE & wisdom & counsel & obedience & sacrifice that helped them walk that narrow path to restoration. Their story will minister to me for the rest of my life and to so many others who will never take this path and to so many who already have.

Very, Very Insightful!,

This book creates an awareness for all married couples out there that no matter how saved you are or how solid your relationship is, you are still susceptible to the various wiles of the enemy and one has to be prayerful. It also shows that God is indeed a God of full, complete and total restoration. Any family that thinks that they cannot recover from adultrey is wrong. You can with God's help. That is what this book reveals.

My husband stumbled across this book while looking for resources to help restore our marriage after my infidelity. Bob and Audrey's story is similar to ours in so many ways, yet there are some differences. This book has helped in the healing process of our marriage along with solid Christian counseling from our pastor. There aren't many resources out there with a biblical perspective on women who commit adultery. There are so many stories of women being the victim and men the adulterer, and it was a great step in our healing process to have this book and to see and understand that what we were both feeling and going through was nothing new. We are not alone. This book has given us even more hope that our marriage will survive and be fully restored by God's love, grace, and mercy.

Even if your single read this book,
This review is from: Marriage Undercover: Thriving in a Culture of Quiet Desperation (Paperback)
I read this book with my small group at church. At first, I didn't see how this book pertained to me because I was single. But, after reading the book I realized the overall theme of hope and forgiveness is very powerful no matter if your are single, married, divorced. I also love the way the book is written, you take turns reading Audrey's perspective and Bob's perspective in each chapter. And I understand what it means for a husband to "cover" his family. Loved it!!!

This book is like balm in Gilead. As a pastor who spent much hours speaking to couples who experienced some form of moral failure in their marriage, and were heading for the divorce court. I recommended this book and after reading it, it has saved their marriage, and has cut down my counseling time, giving me more time to do what i am called to do. I highly recommend this book to any one who has experience some form of moral falure.

After my husband committed adultry I picked this book up. At first I could not even fathom working out my marriage. How could he do this to me? How could he not keep his vows to God and me? After reading this book it gave me another avenue to look at....God's way and will. He allowed this to happen to my marriage for a reason, to make it more beautiful than before. All the feelings Bob felt, I felt. And it gave me a look at how my husband was feeling also. I had no idea he would be feeling hurt and pain for committing this sin like Audrey did. I'm so glad I ordered this book. It's amazing! If you are in a serious relationship.... READ THIS BOOK! If you're engaged to be married .... READ THIS BOOK! If you are married.... READ THIS BOOK! If you have been faced with adultry, definitely .... READ THIS BOOK!

God's Grace and Redemption,

This review is from: Marriage Undercover: Thriving in a Culture of Quiet Desperation (Paperback)
Marriage Undercover: Thriving in a Culture of Quiet Desperation by Bob and Audrey Meisner tells a beautiful story of sin, sorrow, forgiveness, love and and how all this affects one family's life. I thought the book was too long and full of many repetitions. Bob's whining all the way through did not help either. Audrey is the real hero of the story. Yes, she made a mistake, and she too seems to lament it far too many times, but she was dealing with some stubborn reactions from her husband. I congratulate her for continuing in the marriage under rather harsh circumstances. I heard Bob and Audrey tell this story on the radio some weeks ago and that is why I wanted to read the book. Their broadcast was simpler than their writing style and it truly was a great program. I think they do better under the pressure of time blocks. Despite my criticism, there were some really wonderful passages in this book, especially I thought what was said about forgiveness, God's unconditional love, and the honest way Audrey approached her problem was just excellent and I do believe this book will be a sign of encouragement for many other couples who are suffering in our culture of quiet desperation.
