Book Description

Do not adjust your set. That really was Casey Greene being jilted by her fiancé on live TV! And that really was Memphis's most eligible bachelor who stepped in to marry her instead.

Millionaire businessman Adam Carmichael wanted only to help Casey save face. He isn't prepared for the news that their "fake" wedding is legal and binding.

While they secretly wait for an annulment, media and family scrutiny forces them to put on their best loving-couple act. Except by now, neither one is quite sure who's acting....

5.0 out of 5 stars Married By Mistake August 16, 2012

Casey Greene is desperate to make a drastic change in her life in order to get out from under the emotional blackmail her family uses to keep her under their thumbs. Marriage to the man she's been with for years seems like the way to go. So she agrees to appear on a new reality show where brides blindside their men with marriage proposals.

Unfortunately for Casey, she's dumped on live TV rather than married off. In a split decision made out of compassion for Casey, Adam Carmichael proposes to her and marries her in what he thought would be a fake marriage. Oops. Now a man who never thought he'd marry is very married. Casey likes Adam, but she's not interested in living a loveless marriage. However, the marriage does have big pros for both, so the two strike a deal to stick it out for a month. Are they really just sticking it out or could this be an accidental love match?

I really liked this story. I related to Casey, I get what it's like to make a drastic life change to get away from people that aren't good for you or are holding you back. While marriage was certainly drastic, I understood her motivation. I liked watching her evolve from being a push-over into a stronger woman; if she'd started out like that there wouldn't have been much of a story. She's a little TOO perfect, though (sainthood nomination perfect), which does hurt her credibility as a character to some extent. Adam was an emotionally distant man, and I was happy to watch him grow and expand in depth. The minor characters and side romance were as fun to cheer on as the main was.

All in all, this was a fun read. I enjoyed it.

3.0 out of 5 stars REAL, REFRESHING AND ENTERTAINING August 19, 2012

I give this story a 3.5 but you can't really do that in this star rating system. I found the story premise refreshing and the characters real and I was throughly invested in them. I would have liked to give it 4 or 5 star review but it dragged a bit in places.

While I was invested in the characters and I like the TV Reality Series, I couldn't quite buy into the most eligible bachlor in Tennessee getting himself into this situation even to save his familty business and his investors. He should have been way more savvy and not been Married by Mistake.

Otherwise it was a sweet and inventive story line. I found Casey's giving nature a little over the top, but Families members and situations can do that to a softy. However, she did grow a backbone and that helped to make it refreshing and entertaining.

My Advise Buy it. You'll most like really enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straight from Reality TV August 19, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
Playing on the current zeitgeist of reality TV, author Abby Gaines brought Adam Carmichael and Casey Greene straight from "Kiss The Bride" the reality show about impromptu marriages at Memphis Channel 8.

Alright, that sounds like a TV soundbite for an upcoming episode of a reality show; which by the way, that has what our world had gone into. And, author Abby Gaines successfully related to the readers arguably the downside of the current American pop culture.

It was supposed to be a win-win situation for Casey Greene when she signed up for "Kiss the Bride". She gets a free wedding and she could force her fiancé of 7 years to commit. But, she did not expect to be dumped on LIVE TV!

Enter Adam Carmichael, owner of Memphis Channel 8. He had to do something or else lose the biggest sponsor that he has. So, out of necessity, he married Casey Greene on TV.

Well, it should be HEA, right? After all, they were already married. But, truth is Adam and Casey's story was just beginning. And the two have to earn their happily-ever-after. In a series of situations that tugs at your heartstings, Casey and Adam found that their marriage of convenience was not convenient after all!

But, is it a mistake? Since I can't say, "watch the next episode", I will say... READ THE BOOK!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Really dumb premise
There is no way that I can suspend my disbelief from the beginning to the end of this unlikely tale. The characters are either dim bulbs or so thin you can see through them.
