Big Bad Harp Album A Must For Blues Fans,
By A Customer
This review is from: Married to the Blues (Audio CD)
Mark Hummel is, along with Rod Piazza, about the finest practitioner of the rocking West Coast "jump" blues style. In this album Hummel, a maestro harp player, wails out tune after tune backed by a driving band and a few surprise guests including Charlie Musselwhite and Duke Robillard. His vocals are quite good, but you'll keep spinning the disc for Hummel's truly burning harp performances. He's got a big, beefy full-throated harmonica sound. So cool, indeed. Buy it and lace up your dancing shoes, especially for the throbbing Trial By Fire.
