I don't know what this book is supposed to be but I'll tell you what it's not.
As a young man I did everything in a Hot Shoppes from Asst. Mgr to bus boy. I can't understand why they closed. Excellent food at reasonable prices in a family atmosphere never goes out of style. The reveiw of this book said it had authentic Hot Shoppes recipes but they arn't the recipes I remember. Let's start off with the omission of "Pappy Parker's Smokey Mountain Fried Chicken" which is what I bought the book for in the first place. In 60 years, nobody included that recipe?
The rest are pretty much generic recipes that you could get out of any cookbook & are in the cookbooks I already have
Big Disappointment

I was very pleased with the Marriott Hot Shoppes cook book I purchased from Amazon site. A friend of my sister's had one and she nicely gave me a couple of my favorite recipes from her book, but there were so many more that I remembered eating at the restaurants, and I wanted my very own book. I am not disappointed! It's a wonderful addition to my recipe collections. The book arrived quickly and in very good condition. Nice addition for anyone who remembers favorite Hot Shoppe items.

I grew up in Washington, DC and the Hot Shoppes is deeply ingrained in my memory. I loved the food and Hot Shoppes was the place to gather for the teen scene. I bought the book for the recipe of the Mighty Moe sauce. Those burgers were sooooo good. In one of the new Marriott Hotels that recently opened in DC there is a downstairs restaurant the features items from the original menu. So Mighty Moe Burgers are back in town. My big regret was the lack of the fried liver recipe for the liver served in the cafeteria restaurants.

SO many good tastes (excluding the bitter one left behind when the restaurant closed). Mighty Mo sauce! The Mighty Mo! Wow!

The recipes are very easy to follow and bring back so many good memories. I only wish it had the recipe for a Sherry Mushroom dish they had using a flank steak, I think.
