I don't know what this book is supposed to be but I'll tell you what it's not.
As a young man I did everything in a Hot Shoppes from Asst. Mgr to bus boy. I can't understand why they closed. Excellent food at reasonable prices in a family atmosphere never goes out of style.The reveiw of this book said it had authentic Hot Shoppes recipes but they arn't the recipes I remember. Let's start off with the omission of "Pappy Parker's Smokey Mountain Fried Chicken" which is what I bought the book for in the first place. In 60 years, nobody included that recipe?
The rest are pretty much generic recipes that you could get out of any cookbook & are in the cookbooks I already have
Big Disappointment

I was very pleased with the Marriott Hot Shoppes cook book I purchased from Amazon site. A friend of my sister's had one and she nicely gave me a couple of my favorite recipes from her book, but there were so many more that I remembered eating at the restaurants, and I wanted my very own book. I am not disappointed! It's a wonderful addition to my recipe collections. The book arrived quickly and in very good condition. Nice addition for anyone who remembers favorite Hot Shoppe items.

This book is a must have for all foodies and all who enjoyed the drive in A & W ice cold frothy root beers! Ahhh the hot summer days and drive in to get your food and a cold frosted mug. When times were so simple...
So many great recipies in the book. A must have!

as a former manager with Hot Shoppes the book was a great trip down memory lane. It has many of our best comfort food recipes and a history of what started the Marriott corporation. It is worth it just for the recipes and to remember how home cooking used to taste. If you were ever a customer of these great cafeterias and restaurants you will love this collectible book.

As a person who grew up eating at the Hot Shoppes with my friends, I loved this book. All our favorite recipes were there, such as the gravy recipe for french fries and gravy and also the milk shake recipe. Just reading thru the recipes brought back all the old memories about my teenage days. Although many (probably most) of the recipes don't go with today's lighter eating habits, its fun to fix something from the past and enjoy every bite.

I ordered this wonderful cookbook "Marriott Hot Shoppes" and never recieved it, although payment was recieved, and to this day per November 5-December 1,2009 I haven't recieved my "book". I've been requesting a "re-shipments'" and still haven't recieved anything...Today is December 8,2009...I hope the mailbox proves positive today when I get home from work. For now, I am very dissatisfied with my "Amazon" service.
