March 1996
Liberty Ann Justice ran her family's newspaper in Laramie, Wyoming Territory, with all the fire of a born and bred journalist. When a silver-tongued stranger named Donovan came to town, Libby mistook him for her employer's son--the man trying to shut her down--and hated him on sight.

Review

Liberty Ann Justice has been running the Laramie Tribune since her father's death six months ago. But Savage Publishing, the publishing company that owns the newspaper, has told her to stop writing editorials in favor of womens' rights. Libby firmly believes in the suffrage movement and has no intentions of stopping. But when Andrew Savage, the youngest of the Savage clan, shows up on her doorstep she is determined to convince him to let her run the newspaper her way. William Donovan is only in Laramie, Wyoming to collect on a debt from a very dead Andrew Savage. When Libby mistakenly assumes he is Andrew Savage, he goes along with the charade fully intending to tell her the truth before he leaves town. But he doesn't tell her and finds himself on a train bound for San Francisco with the persistent Miss Justice. She makes him promise to take her to Savage Publishing so she can talk to his father R.T. Savage. Donovan doesn't know what he's gotten himself into, but he feels responsible for Libby. When Libby finds out that Donovan isn't a member of the Savage family, she is furious with him. But without any money, she agrees to stay at his house while she waits for a chance to see R.T. Savage. When Donovan goes to plead her case to R.T. Savage himself, he gets more from the visit than he bargained for! Suddenly, his life is turned upside down and he must deal with the fact that he may have to make some very difficult personal decisions in the near future that will effect not only himself, but the woman he has come to care deeply for. R.T. and Libby clash from the beginning. Donovan is also in for a few surprises from R.T., and even finds himself siding with the man. R.T. has a good reason for not supporting the suffrage movement and Libby refuses to back down, even if it means losing Donovan. Though he says he's not the marrying kind, something about Libby touches Donovan in a way that no other woman has. But what sacrifices will he be willing to make to be with her?Sharon Ihle is a marvelous author! Her writing just keeps getting better and better! Once again, Ms. Ihle dazzles us with her wonderful characters! The Marrying Kind is a joy to read! Take one feisty heroine, a charming hero, some witty humor and a lot of romance and the end result will be a book by Sharon Ihle!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. From the Publisher

The newspaper in Laramie, Wyoming Territory, was the domain of Liberty Ann Justice, a headstrong young woman determined to keep the paper alive. When she mistook a handsome stranger named Donovan for her unappreciative absentee publisher, her spitfire vengeance could only be melted by the heat of his touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fab read, July 5, 2011
This review is from: THE MARRYING KIND (Kindle Edition)
I loved The Marrying Kind and think it's Sharon Ihle's best book yet. Funny, witty and a heroine who wears glasses just like I do. Donovan is my kind of hero, tough on the outside, but tender and caring on the inside. As always with Sharon's books, I alternated between laughter and tears - the latter sometimes caused by the laughter!

I just finished reading The Marrying Kind and loved it. The hero, Donovan sure is extra special, but then Ms. Ihle always has extra special men. I never get enough of her books and read them over time and time again. I'm sure The Marrying Kind will be read time and again with the rest. 5 stars.

Sharon Ihle has done it again. I just finished The Marry Kind and loved Libby. I also love the here, especially when he called her 'Lippy." This was simply a great book, and I also learned a lot about women's history. 5 stars
